The Gateway has a lot of individual attractions that add up to a pleasant experience. There is plenty of shopping, amongst varied retailers. However, if you want electronics, you will need to vist another location as both the Microsoft and Apple stores are at another Salt Lake city location. The choices of places to eat has become centralized around the... More

What a pleasant outdoor shopping/dining/gathering area! Absolutely outstanding ambiance. Park in the ridiculously inexpensive parking garage and then walk this two level outdoor mall. (If you buy lunch or dinner, most restaurants will give you a free parking pass for the garage.) Gas fires with wrap-around couch seating -- outdoors! -- are located every 50 to 100 feet it seems.... This is an outdoor experience that seemed visionary. Perhaps it failed since the City Creek Center opened. I was not impressed with the mix of stores that seem to cater to young people. It seems as though there are plenty of empty stores looking for tenants. It's too bad since the concept seemed promising. In fairness perhaps this place is... More

Really enjoyed this shopping experience !!! Two levels , outdoors, lots of stores, restaurants, big movie theatre ( which by the way had advanced seating where you actually have and assigned seat on your ticket!) and a convenient parking garage. Just have your ticket validated and its free! People were very friendly and accommodating . When you get tired, just grab... More

We are here in the summer and there always seems to be some activity going on here. The large movie theater (with assigned seats on some films!) is nice, the shops are unique and interesting. Some sit down restaurants, some quick service ones. The best part is the location across the street from the Energy Solutions Arena. We went to... More

I enjoy shopping here - they have a good selection of stores and restaurants. When I was done shopping, I was able to sit on the patio of the bar and let my mother come and go as she pleased while I drank. Parking is easy too!

The Gateway is So Cool! You certainly don't won't to forget it! It houses a movie theatre and the planetarium among other things! The megaplex movie theatre lets you pick your own movies. The planetarium is free and you can even see what your weight is on other planets!

Our hotel recommended this mall as a place to find several restaurants in walking distance of our hotel. Besides the many stores on multiple levels, we found a terrific selection of restaurants, dessert places, and fun shops.

The splash pad is a hit with the kids and the stores and restaurants attract the adults at this modern open-air not-so-mall-ish shopping center. You won't find a better activity for free and it's right in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. Created along with the 2002 Olympics you can browse personalized bricks that raised money for venues.
