Nice outdoor mall - in need of tenants

Great atmosphere and scenery, water fountains, great meeting place, but the mall has lost a lot of their tenants

All of your favorite shops in one place! Victoria's Secret, Barnes & Noble, Bath & BodyWorks and a great kitchen shop on the north end. I love eating at Flemmings, too. Enjoy the fountain and the free Thursday evening concerts in the summer.

Great place to park if you are going to an event at the Vivint Arena. It was very empty with customers and that could be from the cold weather. Too many empty store fronts to count, but still has some great stores you can only get in downtown here. Sad to see all the restaurants going away.

Empty stores, no where to eat, just sad. Don't waste your time. Surrounding area is occupied by a lot of homeless individuals.

The concept is cool if you live in southern California but not for Utah. Although I do go to a few spots at this mall. Bath and Bodyworks, 'Bout Time for the best pub food and the movies. Parking can be complicated the first time you go but now I know exactly where to park. They just moved Wiseguys there... More

I first visited The Gateway 3 years ago and it was starting it's decline. I was just there on Black Friday and noticed a lot more homeless people and pan handlers that I don't recall seeing much of previously. The stores are few and far between. City Creek definitely has better stores and clientele.

Everyone who has lived in SLC for a while knew this place was doomed from the start. It did well for a time because of a détente with the downtown mall during which it was agreed no one would try to compete with Gateway for downtown business. When the other mall re-opened (City Creek), a lot of the stores from... More

When it was first announced, The Gateway was hailed as the beginning of the upgrading of the near west-side of downtown Salt Lake City. Fast forward 15 years, it's a mostly abandoned outdoor mall rife with crime and homelessness all around it in what can only be described as an act of true urban failure. The LDS Church built the... I visited this mall two years ago and enjoyed a little shopping but now......it is dead and empty with hardly a shop open. Will not visit again until a there has been a major injection of energy and an investment of some kind. Could be something special as accessible by the free tram ride and a convention centre next door.

The Gateway use to be bustling with crowds of people, and had awesome shopping and restaurants. But ever since City Creek was built, this place is a ghost town.
