From the moment you walk into the building you are greeted by smiling faces. We came in December so they had a giant Christmas tree decorated to the nines and they had a choir singing on the 1st floor which sounded beautiful. The atmosphere was so warm and friendly. We were given a FREE tour which was very informative and... More

The building itself is okay, it's not mind blowing but for SLC, it's nice. The place I liked here was the family history centre. Whilst the kids played and did their own thing, the volunteers helped me trace back a few generations some family members. It has got me hooked and i learned a lot. There's toilets, fountains there etc.... More

I highly recommend the cafe directly behind the large statue of Mr. Smith, right off the lobby. Not expensive, and a very good selection of sandwiches and soups.

This is a very beautiful building with a lot of history. We attended a wedding reception on the ninth floor with a beautiful view of the Salt Lake City Temple. It's a breathtaking view when the lights come on. There is also a restaurant and a deli/cafe, which were nice options earlier in the day.

This museum is one of the best that gives the history of the Mormon church. It is so well done that you want to see it more than once.

From the impressive lobby with the live piano music to the Family Search Center, this is not an in-and-out spectacle. The movie theater features historical LDS movies while the Family Search Center is the perfect place to find out what you know about your ancestors and how easy, or challenging, it might be to find out much more about your... Sometimes one wonders - the building has certainly cost a huge amount, and I asked myself if the money spent for it wouldn't be better spent for other purposes. Everywhere one sees Mormons, of course, who are ready to speak to you, always in a friendly way. We were in the diner in the ground floor, which is well kept... More

Worth it as a former grand hotel in downtown Salt Lake. Now great food on the top floors, phenomenal view of the Salt Lake Temple and Temple Square, Family Search to find your ancestors and your heritage and beautiful gardens. At Christmas, beautifully decorated too. .

The Joseph Smith Memorial Building is one of my favorite places in Salt Lake City. I love the history, the architecture, the decor, and the ambiance of this building. The restaurants are also favorites. We recently attended a Wedding Luncheon in the Kirtland Room. The food was outstanding. The Nauvoo cafe is also a favorite--especially the pumpkin soup served sometimes in... More

We toured the building and then went up to the Garden Restaurant. The view of Temple Square was beautiful, looking down over the campus. It is very clean and the food abundant and quite delicious. The roof retracts to open sky, through which my mother launched her birthday balloon. The waiters were very courteous and attentive.
