Small but charming. Skip the train.

We were here as a group of sight impaired guests on a tour. Hats off to Leslie and two other guides who set up bio facts station in each area of the zoo visited. It was cool to have a tactile/visual exhibits of furs, bones and live animals. Each of the tour guides were patient and professional. It was supposed... More

This is a small zoo, but it has some real charm. There are moving dinosaur animatrons that are really well done. Some will squirt water at you when you pass. The sea lion show was great, and so was the bird show. Sip the five minute train ride though, it is loud and unnecessary.

We visited back in March 2015 and we felt it was worth stopping for a second visit. Both times, we arrived at opening on a Sunday; and this seems to be a great time to visit. It is not crowded and the weather was good so many animals were out. The staff is not busy so get a lot of... More

Recently we visited the Zoo (Saturday July 11th) and had the worst experience EVER. We had purchased the city pass back in January to take our little boy who is 10 to the one zoo he wanted to visit on the planet. (It was a birthday present). We bought the city connect pass for this. We did all the other... More

Hello - We are so sorry to hear you had a less-than-great experience at Hogle Zoo - that is, of course, never our intent. In talking to guest services it sounds like this exchange was part misunderstanding, part heightened temperaments (on everyone's part) and part technical limitations. Visit Salt Lake, our partner for the Connect Pass, will only credit the... More

Awesome way to spend the evening with family. Don't go expecting to see a lot of animals cause you won't, it's to cold for them. But go to see the lights and polar bears. You also will like the atmosphere, they have done a great job a getting you into the Christmas spirit. Smaller kids will really enjoy it.

This zoo is given a high rating by the National Zoos and Aquariums Association. Many of the displays are new so they are large and comfortable for the animals. There is a large variety of animals, and the enclosures are close so that the walk is not too difficult around. They have animal shows for birds, the elephants, and a... More

I visited Hogle Zoo as a kid years ago. They still have some of the classic attractions from my childhood but have added some nice modern facilities. The new Sea Lion facility is a gem in the far corner of the zoo. You can watch them swim underwater. Overall the admission price was fair. We bought some toys for our... More

I have been to Zoo's all over the Country and even in other countries and this one ranks with the best. Plenty to see and do. They do Christmas shows, Dinosaur lights, holloween displays. Animals are well taken care of. Staff really care for the animlas. Place is clean and well organized so you can see all the animals.

Took our 4 yr old twins to the zoo. Highlights for them : Train ride, the bird and sea lion shows. The grounds were nice and clean as were the convenience facilities. We walked around and looked at the exhibits (dinosaurs) and the animals and it took less than half a day. A+ for the dinosaurs. I personally liked that... More
