We had little ones with us who were excited by the flashing lights in the shape of animals and the noisemakers. So, it went well for us. At 9pm - the zoo had a bright lights celebration and the kids cheered in the New Year. It is a delightful, albeit cold, walk around the zoo after hours. The animals are... More

We visited the Hogle Zoo on Father's Day in June. First, I have to say I was surprised that Father's weren't free. Most of the zoos we've been to in the past offer free or reduced admission for Mothers on Mother's Day and Fathers on Father's Day. Regardless, there were a pretty good number of animals and exhibits and we... More

For years it was going downhill and the animals were suffering but the zoo seems to have turned a corner. Exhibits are better, animals are healthy .... We have a family membership and go maybe 5-6 times a year. Polar bear is fantastic! The train was just redone & is still terrible, but my kids love it & insist riding... More

I remember the pavillion of African animals being great, camels and giraffes in nice, large enclosures. Tiger looked comfortable. Once a T-Rex became animated and roared close to my toddler and he began to cry! Collect a coupon to save a few bucks off admission.

Hogle Zoo is a great place to take the kids. My grandkids love going there and so do I. You can bring your own stroller or wagon and there are several places to purchase food and drinks.

Hogle Zoo is your average State Zoo. It's not a patch on San Diego or London but it's pleasant for the family. There are a few hills to walk up so if you've got a stroller, get ready to work those calf muscles. The animals look well kept and the information regarding their habitats is spot on. There are things... More

Salt Lake County got a "Zoo, Arts & Parks (ZAP) Tax" passed several years ago, which has been continued by voters since, that has greatly benefited those things in the SL Valley metro area, including major expansions & improvements for Hogle Zoo. The Zoo truly is a nice, entertaining and educational venue for "kids" of all ages and is definitely... More

Its been two years since we last visited the Hogle Zoo. Wow, what a change. The improvements that they have made to the animal areas are amazing. It is so much more animal and viewer friendly. Lots of shade structures have been built so you can stand and view in the shade instead of the hot sun. This place just... More

It is a smaller zoo but has a lot of space for the animals. You can see the lions close up and I loved watching the polar bear swim underwater. I suggest going to see the 25 minute bird show they hold every couple of hours. The birds fly right over the crowd and is very entertaining for kids. $15... More
