The Hogel Zoo is a great experience for animal lovers in Utah. The zoo is not huge, on the scope of San Diego, St. Louis, or Chicago, but there is a good variety of animals and its size makes it very easy to take the kids for a morning or afternoon of animal exploration. The viewing platforms are really remarkable,... More

The Zoo has been an enjoyable place to go since I was a child, and since I took my children there. I now enjoy taking my Grandchildren. My Husband and I sometimes just go for a walk there (We have an annual pass). The recent and on going improvements have made the Zoo even better. And the recent addition of... More

The Hogle Zoo is clean, and makes a good effort to connect it's exhibits with education about conservation efforts. Docents were present everywhere offering really interesting information about the animals. The Hogle Zoo had a wonderful array of animals, even in the winter - the stars for us were the baby orangutan and the interaction between the four lions. It's... More

There is no perfect zoo, but this one is a really good balance. The challenge for zoos is to have nice natural and large areas for the animals and yet small enough that you can consistently find and see the animals. I feel that the Hogle zoo is a really good balance.

My family and I have an annual membership at the Hogle Zoo and come here often. My 2-year old absolutely loves it and it's a blast to take her here. The staff are friendly and approachable and are very willing to answer questions or make recommendations. If you're in the SLC area, a visit to the zoo is definitely worth... More

This is a great place to go to relax and enjoy the animals. Yes they are making improvements on the zoo, but it is still nice.

Not a huge zoo, but plenty of up and down walking. I liked that many of the animal viewing areas offered different angles, view windows and access overlooks to increase the probability of actually seeing the animals. Fences were set up for little people to have a great view too without having to have shoulder rides all day. I was... More

You can't just string up a few lights and charge an arm and a leg. No animals to be seen. The lights were very average. Hot cocoa was $3. Surprised it wasn't free. We paid $29 to get in and walk around when we easily could have seen much better lights walking around town. Most places that show lights do... More

I had higher expectations... They had a whole section blocked off for renovations. I feel like they shouldve charged a discounted ticket price.... The monkeys were absolutely great. They were playful and loud and just showed my kids a great time. The polar bear was my personal favorite....
