We love going to Hogle Zoo every few months and our favorite time of the year by far is fall. School is back in session, so there aren't too many people. In October when the weather is cool it's also fun to bring a warm lunch. The animals are active and the baby elephant is adorable. Love it. more

I am not a big zoo person, feel bad that animals are caged up. But I had a very nice experience here. The landscaping is beautiful and the animals seem very well cared for. My 2 year old nephew loves the merry go round and the train ride. Just a very beautiful location. more

It was our first time visiting the zoo. We went with relatives. My husband is handicapped so we rented one of there scooters, it is a good thing because it has alot of hills. The Zoo is huge. Great place for families or just adults.. more

I went in 2008, and it was absolutely fabulous. You go into the Night Creatures section, and come face to face with a bat-eared fox. Near the Monkey House, a huge glode-like structure where you can see some of the smaller primates. and many other things. Just two things irked me. 1.) There is no traffic light or pedestrian signal... more

I went to the zoo about five years ago, and it was okay. I was very excited to take my babies to the zoo (2 years and 8 months) because I was sure they'd have more animals and it would be awesome. I was SO DISAPPOINTED. The zoo just keeps taking away animals, and half of the displays are empty.... more

If you need to spend some time in SLC with your kids, the zoo is a good option. It is not a great zoo, but very well organized and clean. I recommend it if you have kids. more

I think I may have visted on the off season? A lot of animals seemed to be off exibit or just not there. The elephant were great. We even got to watch a little show and see them eat some pumpkins. Overall I think it was good. Very quiet. But the animals that we did see were great. I liked... more

The zoo has cut back on the kiddie stuff from a while back (no petting zoo, tree house slides etc.) but most of the stuff has actually improved. The Cathouse is much more elegant, and reminds me of the San Diego zoo. The very hyped Albino Gator exhibit, I thought was a poor choice - gators never move and are... more

It will be several years before I even attempt to visit Hogle Zoo again. I try to take my children there once a year, and each time I become more disappointed. Each visit I think there is no way they could have fewer animals on display, and each visit they prove me wrong! Food is WAY overpriced, so bring your... more

I live fairly close to the Hogle zoo, so I have taken my kids there many times. Some days the animals are very active and other days they aren't-that is just how it goes. We usually get at least one group of animals who make the trip interesting. Such as the tigers pacing and making a hurump sound. the Giraffe... more
