Our 7 year old still had a great time, but there are many closed exhibits. We also found it frustrating that we paid for tickets and then were charged again for our daughter to ride the perry go round. But overall, it was a good zoo and fun for our daughter.

Nice zoo. Children 3 and 1 enjoyed it, however, there is still a great deal of construction occurring.

The kids were impressed since it was their first trip to a zoo. Having been to many I found that the animals were in crap conditions, the construction extended to over half the place, yet the price was still normal. Trains were down, not a good experience. Glad the kids didnt know better

The gorilla was eating poo, grizzly bear playing with broken plastic drainage tubing, elephants looked sad watching the interstate theough broken down privacy fencing and the polar bear was pacing nerotically. Over half the park was under construction. Seals and sea lions were very cool. They seemed the only happy animals in the place. The weather was beautiful, the zoo... More

Zoo Lights are an awesome way to spend a cold December night! They have great hot chocolate, and great food in The Bistro. I am looking forward to Spring 2014 when the new addition of the zoo is up and running. The zoo is full of great animals, and the staff are exceptional and very friendly. I have never had... More

We recently visited Hogle Zoo over Thanksgiving when the Zoo Lights were up. What an incredible light display. Thousands of lights with several very cool displays. The children loved it as did the grandparents. We have visited this zoo often as it is close to my in-laws home. As many reviewers have noted, the animals are in rather small enclosures.... More

The zoo and the amenities are fine, but the enclosures for the animals are so depressing. A fox in a glass box, owls in a space smaller than my coat closet, un-inventive and small enclosures for the primates...I know many people who bring their kids here and have no problem with it, but overall, I find it one of the... For all the hype this zoo is not worth the price of admission. Very small selection of animals. Up side is most of the smaller animals had been moved indoors for their comfort. Although if what we saw was the elephant and rhino normal veiwing azaa needs to pay a visit. Very disappointing would not suggest to anyone.

Me and my husband enjoyed the lights and music! Saw some animals too but most were sleeping. Parking wasn't bad. Gift shop was nice too. The only bad thing was all the ice melt it got all over the wheelchair but it's better than slipping!
