Made a reservation for round trip between Port Angeles and Victoria four days in advance. It is a little pricier than some of the BC ferries (as Black Ball is actually privately owned and operated). For example, for round trip for two people and a vehicle, we paid $178. However, if you were taking a ferry round trip from Vancouver... More

The ferry between Port Angeles, WA and Victoria, BC, Canada. When visiting the north Olympic Peninsula, you can make it a two-nation vacation. In fact, those of us who live here often take the early boat to Victoria and spend the day exploring all this exciting city has to offer. It's a great addition to your visit to the Olympic... More

We enjoyed our ferry ride to Victoria and back to Port Angeles. We took the 7:30 PM ride back to PA and we were rewarded with the prettiest longest sunset I've ever seen.

Pay for the round trip, it saves time. There is no benefit to pay Canadian on returning from Victoria. The ferry was comfortable and the bathrooms clean. There is a sheltered area outside on deck to watch the scenery

Walked on. Service was on time each way. Pàrked our rental car in a local lot for $10. Saved on bus ticket by buying on the boat. I think they are tax free.

I recommend making a reservation in advance just for the sake of worry free travel. We reserved a spot coming from Washington to Victoria and pulled right up and got a spot about an hour before launch. Several eating spots are nearby and I recommend getting something to go if you have just an hour or if you give yourself... More

Very relaxing ride to & from Victoria. Although I have motion sickness and should have taken Drammamine for ride over. Did take this for return trip and was much better. Ferry personnel very organized and had everything down to an art. Food service available, tickets for various attractions can be purchased as well as various duty-free items. Required to leave... My wife and I took the ferry to and from Victoria in August, 2015. Both sailings were pleasant even when the captain had to deal with fog on our return journey. Departure and customs are handled effectively. I especially must compliment the line on arranging for our hotel stay (Embassy Inn in Victoria). The hotel was very reasonably priced and... More

Fun trip on a ferry! Get there early as the line gets long. Interesting to watch the crew get all the cars and trucks on board and off in a quick efficient manner.

We have travelled on the Black Ball Ferry Line many times over the past few years and much prefer it to the BC Ferries. It may not be fancy dancy - but the staff are all friendly and helpful. We also appreciate that it is "dog friendly" - ie you can actually bring your dog with you and not leave... More
