Cannon Hall Farm is a large, family run farm attraction. Sitting in the rolling Pennine foothills, it’s home to hundreds of animals, waiting to welcome you to a world of animal magic. The farm features one of the biggest and best equipped playgrounds in the north of England and the largest tube maze in Europe. The farm shop is famous for home produced beef, pork, lamb and a huge variety of sausages. Our on site bakery produces award winning pies and delicious artisan bread every morning. The tearoom serves delicious home cooked food. New for 2015, The Hungry Llama indoor play and restaurant adds a great indoor option with some dramatic slides and innovative play features to a day that's already packed with fun. The farm was winner of Best Tourism Experience at The White Rose Awards in 2011 and highly commended in the same category in the Visit England Awards 2012. The farm was shortlisted in the Best Large Attraction Award at the White Rose Awards 2014 and won the New Innovation Award for it's new farmyard in the National Farms for Schools Awards 2015.

Go to Cannon Hall a lot but over the last 12 months I have noticed it has become very commercialised which has somewhat spoilt the experience. £5 for parking is extortionate particularly as you also have to pay entrance fees and there's enough profit to be made via the farm/play gym, cafés, Ice cream and farm shop etc. I then... Rip off prices, charged £7.95 in school holidays when it's £5.95 in term time. Very expensive day, the car park attendants wanted me to park in a field but instead I had to go to bottom car park which was £2 dearer, wasn't impressed with the animals especially the cows, there was a lot of cows in a small enclosure,... £40 for 2 adults and 3 children.. Hardly anything there.. Was outraged at the ferrit racing.. They forced the feritts into the tube.. Which was filthy and covered in filth. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid!

After going here about 8 years ago I was really looking forward to going again. How wrong could I have been! Very expensive and quite disgusting you have to pay the same amount for a small child as you do an adult. The barns are just full of the same animals. Couldn't see any lambs or Donkey's as they were... More

The sheep racing and ferret racing very entertaining. The children also enjoyed playing with the new feeding shoots for the animals. The indoor play area was excellent however extremely busy but I wasn't too worried as my children are 9 and they loved the orange slide. Fantastic outdoor rope climbing too for the older children. The food portions were generous and... More

We had a great family day out including our 17 month Grandson, really catered well for children (and adults) but let down by the total lack of interest by the 2 members of staff with the black rabbit. Didn't even speak or smile, just sat there looking bored and even picking at their nails. Is it so difficult to be... More

Visited in a family group for my daughter's 2nd birthday. Stopped off in the cafe for lunch first. Really delicious food, and generous helpings (though it would've been useful for the staff to tell us that our sandwiches came with chips when we ordered four sides of chips!). The animals were in excellent condition - obviously being well looked after... More

This is by far the best farm shop that I have ever been in. The butchers has, or will prepare for you, any cut of me you require. The prices are reasonable, the quality of meat is superb and the staff are efficient and very friendly. The Deli is well stocked and has excellent freshly baked bread daily (don't leave... More

I've been coming to the farm for over 20 years since childhood and in the last few years it has changed immensely. Plus points are the cleanliness and hygiene all around the farm, decent selection of farm animals, availability of food/gifts etc. The farm shop is also excellent. As mentioned there has been substantial investment and change and I'm unsure... More

We visited today with my sister in law and 3 year old son, I had recomened after visiting may times when my children were younger, we always had an excellent time,I couldn't believe the change! From the lovely farm where children could get up close to animals and hold animals, to a large indoor and outdoor play area, the only way... More
