So ok, it was awesome to see a glacier and go on the glacier but not for the price. I had been corresponding with Fox Glacier regarding their Helihike Climb Adventure and I believe that the experience was misrepresented. Turned out to be an ice climb tutorial on the same spot all day instead of the adventure it was represented... More

On the full day (6hrs) guided tour, friendly and often good looking guides lead the way to the magical platform in the colour of blue and white. Longer and adventurous tracks are challenging yet, the view at the end of the journey is divine.

My wife and I did one of the trips up onto the ice (wearing crampons and all the clothing provided), and it was outstanding. This is a trip you will remember forever.

A big thanks to Kirsten (our guide) and the entire team at Fox Glacier Guiding for taking us for the trip of a lifetime onto Fox Glacier. The day was perfect, the helicopter flight was quick and over a little too soon but once we put the crampons on we where off for the next 3 hours climbing up and... More

After a rushed start to the morning due to miscommunication of the start time from the tourist office we boarded the helicopter to Fox glacier. The helicopter ride was fantastic and my partner even sat in the front seat on the return journey. Once on the glacier we fitted our crampons and waiting for the other members of the group... More

Up early for our Flying Fox helihike at 7.50am. Kitted out in boots, hats and gloves we were bussed to the helipad, divided into 4 groups of 5 and transferred to the glacier face with our guides. There we were divided into two groups of 10 and our guide was Passang Sherpa (from Nepal no less!) We put on crampons... More

We were a group of 9 (aged 9-50) from tropical country Philippines. We we given a briefing by our guide Graza. My mother and father (72 & 82 years old) opted not to join us after the briefing. They judged they didnt have the physical fitness for the difficulty of the terrain which included crossing streams and climbing/hiking up a... More

It was my first time in a helicopter, and I was lucky enough to be able to sit at the front; next to the pilot! Taking in the best views of the upper icefall and Victoria Falls, I had an aerial view of the picturesque vistas, which was very much short-lived (approximately 5 minutes flight?). The best part of the... More

Fox Glacier was a wonderful place to see and I am really happy I've done that before it ends. But I was terribly disappointed by the tours provided: - They are extremely expensive (even for New Zealand) - They pack people in groups (we must have been around 30) - They do not arrange groups according to the physical capabilities... Thank you for taking the time to post your review although we were disappointed to read that it comes 10 months after you were with us and that you were not happy. By way of explanation, your visit coincided with a time we were managing the consequences of a major ice collapse at the terminal face. Due to safety reasons... More

The heli hike experience by Fox Glacier Guiding that we had was Fantastic! We were in the good hands of our guide "Beer", who was very experienced and taught us the "how-tos" very quickly so that we can move about the glaciers easily. A definite must try in your trip in the South Island!
