At first, we just couldn´t decide if we would do the scenic helicopter ride or the heli hiking. We ended up choosing the heli hike to have a more immersive experience and we didn´t regret it. It was simply unforgettable. Our guide was Joe, he explained how the archers and crancks are formed, how it moves, what are the darker... More

The only company to do heli hike in Fox glacier. Rather commercialized and high ratio of guide to participants. 1:12 pax. There's a total of 30 pax, divided into 5 loads for helicopter. There's only 2 in service, much time spent on waiting. Not much time given for photoshoot during the hike. Understand that there's always safety factor for ALL... More

What an amazing day! We started with rain in the morning, which cleared for our midday heli-hike and then came back just before we flew back down. We were the only group that made it up! Our guide Philly (I think) was super friendly and informative, patient with the slower members of our group and tried to as much as... More

The heli hike is well worth it! Great views, excellent experience walking on the glacier! The guides were all welcoming and very helpful. Expensive but good value considering what you are lucky enough to do.

Five of us had an incredibly good experience with Fox Glacier Guiding on their heli-hike to Fox Glacier. Fox Glacier runs a great operation. --Easy Check-in right on main street in Fox Glacier. --Professional briefing and gear issuing and fitting. They provide everything you need--most important are socks and shoes and crampons. They will also provide small backbacks and jackets.... More

We did the helicopter and hike $399 NZ. Way to inactive. There was just 5m walking every 20min and then mainly all picture time (well after 3min I've taken way to many photo's and standing there getting bored). Helicopter was cool but short and it didn't take us to the top of glaciers. So if you want 50 pictures of... More

We spent a month in New Zealand and had some amazing adventures - kayaking in Queen Charlotte Sound, the Routeburn and the Milford Tracks, but our 2 day Chancellor Dome adventure with Cole at Fox Glacier Guide was the highlight of our trip. We met Cole early in the morning, arranged our gear and then took a private helicopter to... More

We booked the activity last minute around Christmas. We are thankful that heli hike was available. Our guides were friendly, funny and quite knowledgeable about the glacier terrain. Awesome fun experience and oh , the glacier looked amazing from the helicopter ride!
