We have a very long and proud guiding history ensuring safety by training our guides through the internationally recognised New Zealand Mountain Guides Association. I totally enjoyed my glacier walk with Fox Glacier Guiding. The staff were professional and friendly. They even have staff out there on ice everyday carving and maintaining the ice just so that tourists would have as much enjoyable time as possible. Fox glacier itself is beautiful and majestic. It's bigger than Franz Josef and less commercialised. Hence I chose... More

This is probably one of the coolest things I've ever done. The tour guides were very good and looked after us well and we felt completely safe at all times. We did the helihike and really enjoyed all aspects of it. Would highly recommend.

With pooring rain all day we didn't think our hike would go ahead , but with a weather briefing from our guide "Jess" and a quick vote as to who is still keen, off we went. We had a small group which made things easier as the weather was not on our side to say the least. Rain, thunder and... More

We booked the Heli Hike based on reviews and planned it into our South Island tour. We had planned for the 11:50 tour however having arrived the night before we were recommended to start at 8:50 as the weather was due to come in. We were not disappointed. Bright blue sky's greeted us in the morning. Our tour guide Kat... More

This was our first experience to the Glaciers. We did the Heli Hike. The price sounds expensive, however it is worth every cent. We went to the glacier on a sunny day, the conditions were perfect. We took off in the helicopter for some beautiful views of the mountains, valley and then the glacier. We were then fitted with the... More

I would highly recommend this. The guide was very friendly, safety conscious, and made it fun. He knew a lot about the glacier which made it very interesting- much better than just going by ourselves.

1st time see the glacier in so closed up position. Very good tour guide and it is very fruitful trip. Glacier were melted into quite inner place so unable to really walk on glacier was a disappointment.

Did the quick fox (terminal face walk and ice walk). It is an easy guided walk towards the glacier and a few short baby steps on the ice. With no such experience with walking on ice or glaciers, I found the tour informative, easy and enjoyable. If you're looking for a challenge this isn't the type of tour/walk. The walk... More

We did the Quick Fox because we were on a tight budget (however its still costs $95 for an adult). We were all very disappointed with the trip. Only 10 minutes of the 3 hour trip was spent at the glacier. The rest was spent walking through an area that has public access next to it (which is free!). I... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your review on our Quick Fox experience. By way of explanation the Quick Fox Walk was introduced in April '14 after an ice collapse which affected our lower glacier access and suspended three of our regular experiences. The Quick Fox continued to provide the opportunity to have a short ice experience without... More

Due to bad weather conditions, our quick fox guided trip was cancelled. The company obviously couldn't do anything about this, but it is a long drive from Queenstown so I recommend you check in on the morning before you leave to ensure tours are operating. Also check the roads as we were stopped for about 25 minutes at Diana Falls... More
