Beyond the wall the drive way winds through our oldest Sauvignon Blanc vineyard, over the small stone bridge and into a beautiful park setting, with willow trees and a duck pond, picnic tables, badminton, tennis and patenque. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, with toys for children of all ages. You may even catch a glimpse of Frankie the family Border Collie, she is so welcoming. The tasting room has a casual kiwi feel with couches, bean bags and outdoor furniture. A large variety of wines is on offer, a chance to taste a couple of your favourites or be adventurous and try a tasting tray with your choice of six wines. We pride ourselves on providing informative discussions about our wines, winemaking and our region. A selection of picnic nibbles is available for light lunches with cheeses, antipasto, smoked mussels and more. Please ask the cellar door staff.Wine tours of the vineyard and winery are available by appointment.Open 7 days 10am-4.30pm2011 Holidays - Closed on these dates below: New Year's Day 1st JanuaryGood Friday 22nd AprilMarlborough Anniversary Day 31st OctoberChristmas Day 25th DecemberBoxing Day 26th DecemberMarlborough has one of the world’s greatest wine trails: fabulous wine, breathtaking scenery, a warm climate and relaxed people clustered in one small grape growing region (approximately 14 x 7 kilometres). This is a must do in the Marlborough wine region of New Zealand. We went there with the half day Sound Connections tour bus. We were greeted outside with wine and once we got inside they let us try which ever wines we wanted. And honestly, all of them were delicious. We especially enjoyed the Gewürztraminer (which is normally found... More

Struggled to find somewhere for a few wines and cheese board/platters for 10 women Sunday arvo of Mothers Day... they bent over backwards for us and we had a fantastic time at Forrest Wines. Don't miss this slice of paradise!

Thanks ladies - it was a pleasure to see you all enjoying the Estate as we hoped to see it used. We hope to see you back for next year's St Clair Half Marathon and when you can no longer run we will see you back at the Forrest GrapeRide on your bicycles. Cheers! More

Visited the winery and did the $7 tasting of 6 wines (otherwise you could try 3 for free). Excellent choice to go for the more broad tasting selection. You are offered the whole wine 'menu', choose the ones you want and they are delivered on a tray with water, all marked up and with very comprehensive tasting notes. A very... More

Absolutely loved all the wines we tasted but my favourite would have to be The Doctors Reisling. I am usually a Sauv Blanc fan but I am converted to Riesling after trying this delicious wine.

We were two adults and a baby looking for a platter lunch and a couple of glasses of wine. We were really impressed that they had a toy box for children and a selection of very tasty morsels we could choose from to make up a picnic with our wines. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere and lovely platter and wine -... More

This is a nice place. The people were moderately friendly, but the wine and atmosphere were top notch. If I were to give someone advice though I would tell them to visit a winery with better views of the beautiful Marlborough region. From the Forrest estate you can't really see much other than the tasting room, and a few outside... More

We popped in to Forrest Wines as a recommendation from the motel we were staying at. The lady who was there was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and how they produced. She gave us a taster of three wines, although if you can buy a taster of 6. We ended up buying 2 bottles of wine at really... More

Friendly, knowledgable staff who were happy to discuss the details of the winemaking process to two novice wine tasters. They have a superb product and we will certainly be purchasing more from home!

We were driving through the area out of season and decided to pop in simply because they made a Malbec, which interested us. They offer so much more though. The welcome we got was easily the warmest of any winery and we spent ages chatting with the knowledgeable and friendly lady in the shop. A great selection of dessert wines... More

The staff member at the Cellar Door gave me a warm welcome, in spite of it being a very quiet time of year for visitors. I would recommend a visit to this winery.
