Sheepworld is New Zealand’s Sheep and Wool Centre. In twice-daily live demonstrations the dogs round up and bring in the sheep, which are then sorted and shorn. Our Wonderful Wool multimedia exhibition then explains how the fleece is turned into an amazing variety of products, many of which are on sale in our store. There’s also an eco-discovery stroll through native bush, a natural adventure playground, a farmyard full of animals and an on-site cafe. Suitable for all ages.

We visited Sheepworld as part of our tour of NZ and it was an absolute stand - out. The show was fascinating (love the dogs) and the complex was very well kept. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We were a bit worried that it might be a bit touristy but in fact it is a very authentic... More

$70 for a family - ouch! Overpriced for what you got. We paid our money then were pointed to the back door and that was it. We wandered aimlessly to some animals and although a lovely walk, it would have been nice to at least see someone or be able to pet one of the bunnies or something. It was... More

Last minute decision to visit Sheepworld yesterday. Really enjoyed the dog and sheep show, was informative and an eye opener, to the life that they lead. Would highly reccomend for a day out!

Didn't expect much but we were very surprised! Loved the dog and sheep show. Hilarious and also very informative. Really a fun time - even for adults! Our youngest is 19 years old. We all really enjoyed it. The show was certainly the highlight. Bring a rain jacket as a lot is outdoors. There is a cafe there too if... More

We loved this place!! I have to say that we were the ONLY family there as it was a Monday morning during a school week and it was raining. Dave was our designated Sheep Expert and he was fabulous and VERY, VERY funny. He was great with the kids and us adults alike. We got to see how the sheep... More

As an early 30s couple, we knew this place was going to be probably targeted more at kids. But boy was it worth the journey north from Auckland to visit Sheep World! Despite the $26 entrance fee, we walked away LOVING sheep world and the great & informative show put on by John. We even got to take turns sheering... More

I was a bit skeptical at first since my initial impression is that this show is for kids but I'm glad we went here. The dog & sheep show was very interesting, informative, and also fun. You can also feed the farm animals (great for kids).

I wanted to go to Sheepworld because we have a Border Collie x. My family thought I was a bit nuts but everyone from the husband to the 3 yr old thoroughly enjoyed themselves. John Green (not the author) was fantastic at explaining the profession of sheep shearing, working dogs and the history behind them. The 8 yr ld even... More

If you grew up on a farm, I wouldn't expect you to enjoy this. But for city folk who have driven by sheep a million times and never really seen one up close this is great. Informative & entertaining for the whole family!
