Sheepworld is New Zealand’s Sheep and Wool Centre. In twice-daily live demonstrations the dogs round up and bring in the sheep, which are then sorted and shorn. Our Wonderful Wool multimedia exhibition then explains how the fleece is turned into an amazing variety of products, many of which are on sale in our store. There’s also an eco-discovery stroll through native bush, a natural adventure playground, a farmyard full of animals and an on-site cafe. Suitable for all ages.

Bit of a late review...sorry! We had great fun at sheepworld! I took my nephew and although he was only 1 at the time and thoroughly enjoyed it! There were lots of animals to see and interact with. We love the treats we bought to feed them. I think this was only a couple of dollars. The show was fantastic... More

We have just had one of our best value family day out experiences in NZ. Sheepworld was just fantastic. The lady in the gift shop was a gem fussing over the kids and taking them out to feed the Cockatoo peanuts. It made the day extra special with her enthusiasm. The $1 bags of animal food were a hit (... More

We visited Sheepworld as part of our tour of NZ and it was an absolute stand - out. The show was fascinating (love the dogs) and the complex was very well kept. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We were a bit worried that it might be a bit touristy but in fact it is a very authentic... More

$70 for a family - ouch! Overpriced for what you got. We paid our money then were pointed to the back door and that was it. We wandered aimlessly to some animals and although a lovely walk, it would have been nice to at least see someone or be able to pet one of the bunnies or something. It was... More

We are glad you enjoyed your visit to Sheepworld but are disappointed that you considered it expensive ($NZ 68 for a full day pass for a family of 4). Sheepworld is considerably less expensive than other similar experiences in NZ and features a professional live one hour show with highly trained staff and animals (working dogs) as just one of... Didn't expect much but we were very surprised! Loved the dog and sheep show. Hilarious and also very informative. Really a fun time - even for adults! Our youngest is 19 years old. We all really enjoyed it. The show was certainly the highlight. Bring a rain jacket as a lot is outdoors. There is a cafe there too if... More

We loved this place!! I have to say that we were the ONLY family there as it was a Monday morning during a school week and it was raining. Dave was our designated Sheep Expert and he was fabulous and VERY, VERY funny. He was great with the kids and us adults alike. We got to see how the sheep... More

As an early 30s couple, we knew this place was going to be probably targeted more at kids. But boy was it worth the journey north from Auckland to visit Sheep World! Despite the $26 entrance fee, we walked away LOVING sheep world and the great & informative show put on by John. We even got to take turns sheering... More
