Sheepworld is New Zealand’s Sheep and Wool Centre. In twice-daily live demonstrations the dogs round up and bring in the sheep, which are then sorted and shorn. Our Wonderful Wool multimedia exhibition then explains how the fleece is turned into an amazing variety of products, many of which are on sale in our store. There’s also an eco-discovery stroll through native bush, a natural adventure playground, a farmyard full of animals and an on-site cafe. Suitable for all ages.

A great experience for the whole family

It was such great fun visiting sheepworld. The show is really entertaining and at the end they even brought in some baby lambs to be bottle fed by the visitors. They also have... read more

It was such great fun visiting sheepworld. The show is really entertaining and at the end they even brought in some baby lambs to be bottle fed by the visitors. They also have quite a large farm zoo, behind the barn with donkeys and pigs and lots more animals you get stroke and feed. The cafe has a good selection... More

We were given gift vouchers for Christmas to this little farmlet attraction. Apparently my sister had trouble buying them for us from overseas so that's something to be aware of for overseas gift buyers. We heartily enjoyed the sheep show. The presenter was very informative and highly entertaining (and a little un-PC which added to the fun) and the lamb... More

We are from Auckland and with a 2 1/2 old in tow its a bit tiring traveling down to Rotorua, so we chose Warkworth. The farm is small but they have a lot of friendly cute animals my boy wouldn't want to leave! The show itself, wow, it was very informative and entertaining, especially the farm dog part!! The show... More

Sheepworld was one of the bus tour stops from our cruise ship. From the name, I was concerned that it would be pretty lame. To my great surprise, it was very fun and informative. They first told us a lot about how the dogs are trained and used. They then did a demonstration where the dogs gathered the sheep from... More

I can't report on the food (it was lunch time but I was not enticed by the looks of the sad pies available); I didn't see the sheep show (a family with young children were over the top thrilled with it); but I DID shop at the Ecowool shop and I DID buy two Sheepskins. Prices in the shop were... More

this was so entertaining and fun. I was captivated from start to finish! Watching the dogs work the sheep was fascinating - they are all about their job, and they seem to love it. We watched shearing and learned about how it's done properly, and why it's important for the sheep AND the farmer. There's a fun animal farm with... More

We enjoyed SHeepworld with our tots, lots to see, we had a voucher which made it worth it, the cafe doesnt have a menu, just a few items in the fridge and they were small, overpriced and not tasty

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed Sheepworld, and thanks for your 5 star rating. We are a bit disappointed that you felt that the cafe was "bad". It's important to realise that we provide a snack service for visitors, not a full service café/restaurant, with a selection of filled rolls, home-baked savouries and cakes etc available from the... The title says it all. :-) Was about to drive guests to Rotorua to have a must-do-when-in-NZ experience: sheep shearing. Shortage of time (and the thought of driving round trip) made me explore some options. A friend recommended Sheepworld. It may not be comparable to Rotorua's but it delivered more than expected. We came home happier and more knowledgeable after... More

This was one of the best shows we have ever seen. The host was very informative and entertaining. We learned so much! Ey shear the sheep up close so you can see everything. Loved feeding the lambs at the end of the show

Kids had a great time feeding the animals. Plenty of safe areas for them to run around. The show is the most entertaining and informative I've seen in farming "thanks Rob, Dakota, Jess and Coco". My family loved it, 2 grandies, 3 adults and 4 kids. The cafe will give you coffee in exchange for money but the friendly laugh... More
