Has everything for the family. There are a few walks which give you places to stop and read about the area. The farm part is great as there are animals to view and if you come after June and come at the right time you can see the cows being milked. There is also a campsite and toilets etc. Lots... More

The scenery here is absolutely beautiful. We went for a leisurely afternoon walk with a group of friends. The animals were a bonus and super cute, friendly and clean. There are also camping facilities available and horse riding for kids. There's a picnic area with a few BBQ facilities which would make for a good day out!

We went to this park as we have some spare time before our flight and this park is only 10 minutes away from the air port. We arrived in the evening and was blown away by the beautiful scenery. There are farm animals around you and you can feed them. We are also very lucky to see the sunset that... More

Beautiful park - hard to believe you're still in Auckland. My toddler and 7 year old both thoroughly enjoyed. Facilities clean and animals appear very happy. Really enjoyed the sense of humour in the signage on way round! Can easily kill a couple of hours. I gather there's a nice walk down to the water edge but didn't do this.

We had a few hours to spend before we needed to check in for our flight and this was only a short drive from the airport. The park is free and well managed. There was plenty of parking for the campervan, close to picnic tables and toilets. As well as the farm animals there is a selection of lovely rural... More

They have an open farm where you can watch sheep and cows from close up. It must be a nice outing with kids. I mainly went there because I had to get to the airport at rush hour and did not want to get stuck on the highway in traffic. Ambury is only 10 mins drive away from the airport... More

An extremely big farm where you can, and should, drive to. You can also take bus 304 and 305 (check with the driver). It is free, and has all sorts of farm animals that you think of: cows, sheep, horses, chickens, pigs etc. You have to look after yourself though, as no one will be there to look after you.... More

Check out the waking paths in the rear of the farm. Some good places to get away from the noise of the city for a while and read a nice book.

Easy to get to from where I live. Great experience for my 10 month old to get up close to sheep, cows, chickens etc. If you have a non-walker you'll need a mountain buggy or similar. Your shoes will stink afterwards if you go in the paddocks so make sure you take that into account. Amazing that this is free... More

Cannot believe this place is free! So great to take the children around and see all the different animals. Lush green grass with lots of places for a picnic. Kids can really run around here with heaps of space and so close to the city. Cannot fault this free attraction!
