My partner and I booked the Harrisons Cape Runner as it was recommended by a family member as being a must do on our trip to the far north, and they were right! For $50 you cannot beat it for value for money, we left Kaitaia at 9am and returned about 5pm. We drove in the new Harrisons purpose built... More

This experience was super cool, and Harrisons Cape Runner is definitely the company to go to!! They have less stops and more time at each place compared to some of the other companies. Our bus driver, Simon, was really cool, and I hope to get on his bus some other time. Everyone at the company is really nice actually, do... More

All of the good reviews were spot on. We went up the beach first and down the pavement after lunch. We had a bit of excitement when the engine took on some sea water and stalled for a good 10-15 minutes. No one panicked and everything turned out fine. The dunes are fun, but sometimes other guests are only concerned... More

This tour was recommended by a local and it was a first rate excursion. At $50 per person for the day, it is excellent value. We booked 4 on the trip. 3 full buses set off at about 0900 hrs for a trip up the East coast road, stopping for a picnic lunch ( more about this later). The 4x4... More

Great day - we travelled up the beach on a comfortable coach, stopped twice for photo ops, went sand tobogganing (so much fun - but keep your mouth closed on the way down!), lots of time at Cape Reinga to walk around & read the information signs, down to a remote beach for lunch provided by Harrisons (yes, it was... A year ago, on another tour in another part of the country, a complete stranger raved to me about this tour and said I absolutely had to try it. Having always wanted to see Cape Reinga, I was a bit hesitant when I saw how cheap the tour was- $50 per adult. I thought 'you get what you pay for'... More

$50 per person with lunch included. Very informative local knowledge with numerous side visits. A great day.

What fantastic value for money this tour is. A full day tour for only $50 is amazing. We traveled on one of the newly renovated 4wd truckbus from Kaitaia up towards Cape Reinga. Comfortable although a little stuffy on a hot summers day. Stops along the way for pictures and ice cream before arriving at Cape Reinga. Lunch was at... More

What a blast, for only $50. Arrived in Kaitaia and jumped on the 4x4 Cape runner. Robin our driver and host took us to Cape Reinga first, with stops along the way. Houhora harbour first then, then ice creams at Te Kao, with lunch at Tapotupotu. OK lunch was a bit on the budget side but it filled us up.... More

We (my husband and I) normally hate organised tours and prefer to venture out on our own. But for 90 mile beach it seemed a tour was a more efficient option as we were short on time in Northland. We booked Harrison's and had a fantastic time! Our truck-bus driver/tour guide was Jason and he was fantastic. He is also... More
