Good trip, good value for money, we were well entertained. Everything Barbara mentioned above is true, dont think I can do any better, I guess I am just adding myself here as another happy traveller. So if you are looking for a good experience, lots of activities, this is highly recommended.

I like Harrison's for several reasons. 1.) They take you on 90 mile beach, which is a crazy 88 kilometer stretch of sand that is actually a highway. 2.) They take you to the Te Paki sand dunes for tobogganing. 3.) They take you to the Ancient Kauri Kingdom, which sells preserved 45,000 year old kauri wood, which Harrison's "mines"... More

We did the tour to 90 Mile Beach, Cape Reinga and beyond on 2 December and LOVED it. Really good value for money - $50 got us a full day out, lunch and the best tour guide - Simon. Very informative and funny - we did have the best day. Highly recommend for local knowledge, safe driving and yummy strawberries!!!... More

The 2 previous reviewers are correct about the coach, but this was a bargain compared to other companies and we did exactly the same trip/route as the others. Coach is safe though and well driven. The driver and guide DC was a teacher working on a Sunday and was superb and gave us a really excellent insight to the whole... More

The bus very old, when it rained the rust between window pillars leaked pouring water on me..... had to move, just as well it wasn't full. Lunch was pretty miserable no fresh food in sight. The place is magic and the driver was safe.

There is some truth in previous comments on the coach condition, lunch quality and the drivers jokes but...... We paid about half of what Fullers wanted, I do not want a posh and expensive lunch as we eat mainly in the evening, the coach was reliable and did not distract from the experience and the drivers jokes were not that... We just thoroughly enjoyed our day trip out to Cape Reinga with Harrisons Cape Runner. Apart from being very informative, Robin, our driver had a wicked sense of humour and our day was spent enjoying his commentary and the beautiful scenery. Our $50 day cost was amazing compared to other companies and our lunch, albeit just a bread roll sandwich... More

I wish to not only praise this tour which I took today but to confirm some comments and debunk some myths. We did this tour this morning, my wife, 2 kids (6 and 4) and me. The cost of doing the trip with Harrisons was less than 1/3 of the other guys but we had to drive to Kaitaia from... More

We tossed up about whether to book this tour, because as a Kiwi family we don't usually "play tourist" in our own country, preferring to do our own thing. But as we had a rental car, and wanted to drive on 90 mile Beach, which is not covered by rental insurance, we decided a tour was the way to go.... More

Harrisons Cape Runner is a marvellous way of exploring the Far north of NZ, learning the history and also having some fun like sliding down sand dunes and driving along 90 mile beach in a coach. Although I had done this before with a different company my partner had not and my budget was limited. In Paihia you pay over... More
