A nice walk and spot for a picnic, also checkout hot water beach and tauranga bay. The track for tauranga bay is ok and starts at the north end of waihi beach. More

Admittedly we love coastal rock formations. This takes the cake! The 45min relatively easy walk is inconsequential given the majesty of this place. Follw the dignposts to the cove car park. From there, you have got a 35-45min walk to the cove itself, with a flight of 147 steps at the end. Trust me, its worth it. The huge hole worn through the cliff (you begin to realise why its called 'cathedral' cove, the white sand, warm sea. You could be in paradise.... More

Love the area, but be smart and don't go under the Cathedral Cove....lots of falling rocks! More
