Two people drowned off this beach this year, one in February and one in April. The snorkeling is Very good there and lots of black rocks attract sea.life. Use caution when snorkeling and Swimming. Sometimes there are powerful waves on any beach . Caution, please!

Perfect for outrigger canoeing, snorkeling (saw 6 green sea turtles one morning), bodysurfing, hanging out and watching the sunset. Outrageously awesome!!!

my wife and I and our 5 month old son came here several times during our week on Maui. We really enjoyed ourselves here. If you come early enough you can get a place in the shade. Which was one of the reasons we kept coming back. Neither of us had really snorkled before but having the chance to swim... More

This was a good spot for snorkeling on a day when I forgot my floatie. I like to use one because I am not comfortable in the open water although I can swim. However, here in the early morning (at 7:15am we were the first people in the water), the waves were calm and the awesome underwater life starts so... More

If you enjoy snorkeling and want to see a huge variety of fish, this is the place to go. There is lots of shade to park your things, a good bathroom and showers. It's best to go in the morning, at least at this time of year, the wind kicks up in the afternoon and the visibility gets sketchy. Saw... More

A bit of a walk from the Marriott the first part of this beach is rocky. It has a sandy bottom on the far end and some good snorkeling. Gets very crowded as the beach is not that wide.

Enjoyed this beach do much. Quiet, enough beach for us to enjoy without the noise of screaming children! I do have a 9 year old... Enjoyed boogie boarding here. Disliked that it was rocky.

Make sure you keep you valuables with you- even if you are still close by- our keys and rental vehicle was stolen right from the beach- not a great way to start the vacation!

We love Ulua Beach and will definitely be back! Pretty packed, but still enjoyable. We took our umbrella, chairs and cooler and thoroughly enjoyed a day of reading good books mixed with taking dips in the ocean.
