My family of 3 had been to this beach in 2013 and had so much fun snorkeling, we decided to bring our family group of 13 back here in 2015. The snorkeling for beginners is great here - easy beach entry (when the waves are small - try to arrive by 9 am). There is a naturalist on hand to... More

We arrived around 9:30am and had no problem finding parking here at Ulua beach but the lot sure looks like it will fill up quickly. We walked from here all the way down to Polo Beach. It is simply a beautiful area, with a fair amount of shade (in the early AM) and not a lot of people on the... More

Nice beach with easy access from the parking area. I did a scuba dive off the shore here, so was not hanging out on the beach exactly but I was there long enough to say it's worth a visit.

A more narrow strip of beach than several, results in it feeling a bit more crowded. Ulua has a steeper dropoff than some (e.g. Wailea and Polo) which can result in rolling waves trouncing the unwary. Boogie boarding and body surfing can be more risky here, due to the steeper rate of dropoff causing waves to put the rider into... More

I really like swimming here and feel comfortable, but it gets too busy between the two luxury hotels. However, if you are staying at these resorts for a few days and just want to relax, you really do not have to leave, this is pretty much as good as it gets for comfortable swimming and exploring, Plus you can rent... Trust 4 Seasons to hook up with a great beach. The public access parking lot fills up early with knowledgeable divers who know about the easily accessible reefs. Many locals enjoy this spot which is also desirable for family outings. If you're not a guest you still might enjoy walking up the path and enjoying a cocktail or lunch in... More

I go to Maui every winter, when it is cold and raining (this year no more drought, yes!) in California, and other people's kids are still in school. Kids and me are like my ex and myself -we don't mix! I'm on the plane to Maui, with my snorkel gear packed, and my snorkel fins sticking out of the top... More

The plusses here are, consistently good snorkelling, quick and easy access from nearby hotels, and usually clear water. We have never been disappointed snorkelling here, there is a good variety, although you need to swim out and around the rocks bait to get to the best spots. This time we saw a stingray, moray eels and octopus. Get here before... More

This was a relax day for the beach and snorkeling. I read that this was one of the better places for snorkeling. It was good, lots of fish and turtles to see but very busy for surrounded by hotels. It is also the place where they do introduction to scuba diving. The beach is long but not very wide but... More

We snorkel here every time we come to Maui and have never been disappointed! Love the naturalist on site. This time I saw 3 spotted moray eels and an octopus ink one of the eels!! Turtles and amazing fish. Love the beach and the boogie boarding for the kids. Get there early (before 9) as parking goes fast!
