I go to Maui every winter, when it is cold and raining (this year no more drought, yes!) in California, and other people's kids are still in school. Kids and me are like my ex and myself -we don't mix! I'm on the plane to Maui, with my snorkel gear packed, and my snorkel fins sticking out of the top... More

The plusses here are, consistently good snorkelling, quick and easy access from nearby hotels, and usually clear water. We have never been disappointed snorkelling here, there is a good variety, although you need to swim out and around the rocks bait to get to the best spots. This time we saw a stingray, moray eels and octopus. Get here before... More

This was a relax day for the beach and snorkeling. I read that this was one of the better places for snorkeling. It was good, lots of fish and turtles to see but very busy for surrounded by hotels. It is also the place where they do introduction to scuba diving. The beach is long but not very wide but... More

We snorkel here every time we come to Maui and have never been disappointed! Love the naturalist on site. This time I saw 3 spotted moray eels and an octopus ink one of the eels!! Turtles and amazing fish. Love the beach and the boogie boarding for the kids. Get there early (before 9) as parking goes fast!

Ulua is the perfect spot to try out you snorkeling skills. It is calm. As you go further out along the reef, the fish and coral get better and it is less crowded. That is its draw back. It does get crowded and parking is limited. Go early.

We never got to snorkel here but still had a great day playing in the water and relaxing. It was so great to be able to walk here on the path from the Four Seasons. Loved our day here. No shade that we could see when we visited.

Great coral reefs for snorkelling but be sure to get there early though since it is very popular and their parking lot fills up quickly plus it gets extremely crowded with snorkels.

This beautiful beach has a great spot for snorkeling along the rocks to the right side of the beach. You can get really close to all the corals and the fish, and there is easy access so you can just go straight in from the sandy beach and the reef is just there. We rocked up around 10am on a... Took my 4 open water dives here! Gorgeous beach and lots to see underwater for divers and snorkelers alike. Easy water entry, nice bench up top for air bottles for divers.
