We had a blast stand up paddle boarding and kayaking here. You are also able to rent chairs and umbrellas. Lots of fun.
The good: Beautiful sand beach, clear water, easy access from the hotels or parking lots. Nice paved walking trail. Shower and rest rooms. The not so good: It does get crowded as several hotels have chairs/umbrellas out for the guests. You might feel a bit unwelcome as a result. Good alternative: Keep traveling toward Makena. A very tranquil and peaceful beach, so peaceful in fact, I fell asleep on the beach and woke up severely sun burnt and spent the rest of my vacation in my hotel room. No complaining though, the beach is beautiful! Go with a friend or family, someone to wake you up if you fall asleep in the strong Hawaiian sun.
Just came in alone for a couple of hours. I was not even staying at one of the hotels nearby. My Auntie suggested that I go to this place to see the natural beauty of the island. Yeah, it was but the crowded (full of tourist) just got in the way kinda hard to look for a nice spot. But... More
If you want a great beach head to Wailea!! Some of the niecest beaches in the world with the most beautiful white sand and crystal clear water!! It's a must see!
It is a good beach if you are staying in one of the Wailea resorts. We came down from Kihei and saw that the whole beach was occupied by beach umbrellas/chairs from nearby resorts. We felt out of place unlike other beaches in Maui.
Nice quiet stretch of beaches interposed with walking trails along the ocean. Beautiful sunset viewing
Great beach, soft white sand and clear blue water. You can take an outrigger ride from the beach and view sea turtles and other sea life.
We rented kayaks and paddled around for an hour in the early morning. The water was so clear that we could easily make out the bottom of the ocean.
