Great area for older adults or families. The restaurants and general shopping are very pricey, but this area has 5 star hotels, so you expect the retail to cater to that income bracket. Not a lot of night life. The bars at the hotel close around 10 PM. The beaches have great snorkeling, no need to stay for a boat... More

We stayed at the Four Seasons so this was "our" beach. I didn't expect to like it that much but came to love it. The water was too rough for us beginner snorkelers--at times it was better for boogie boarding. Loved seeing the sunset here and it was also beautiful in the early morning. It seemed to be the windiest... More

We parked for free in the lot next to the Grand Wailea and then walked along the coast. Spectacular views at every turn. Mostly level terrain. The walk South takes you past the Four Seasons and other amazing resorts on your left while the Pacific Ocean and sea turtles are on your right. Don't miss this free and always memorable... More

We stay at the Grand Wailea Resort each year so by 7am we are at Wailea Beach and love every second of it. I would say it's more of a "family" beach, maybe too boring for the "younger" crowd but that's ok with us. There are more isolated beaches, higher waves if you prefer that, and less people...but the spaciousness,... More

I'm picky about my beaches, but this did NOT disappoint. It was beautiful and pristine. The staff of the Grand Wailea Hotel takes special care even removing rocks from the sand! The water is very clear, even snorkeling exposes you to the fish and other creatures of the seas. I did not get to see any of the green turtles... More

Not too crowded, this is a beautiful beach. Fabulous place to snorkel, with reef only 20 metres off the beach with plenty of fish and turtles to look at :) I was there with my 4yo and she loved the beach and also did a bit of snorkeling with me. You do need to go in the morning tho because... More

If your'e staying at the hotel, it's the closest option. For seeing turtles head to Makena beach down the road and if boogie boarding is your thing, go to Big Beach - both are just miles away with plentiful parking.

This is a beautiful Hawaiian beach. Go early to get the best parking. It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to the beach. If you are snorkeling go to the left. There are a lot of hotel guests here so you need to find a good area close to the water break. We went twice and... More

It's small but beloved. Finding this beach park 20 years ago was a happy accident for us as we were actually looking for something else. There is a long finger of coral that stretches out providing the habitat for thousands of tropical fish. I haven't seen turtles, or anything quite that spectacular but it is a great place to see...
