Why go to a mall on Maui?

I have a condo close by this shopping center and go there often. Not anymore. Went there today first time in 2 months and found now it's a paid parking fee. Outrageous. ...I was just there for 45 min and was charged $6.00! It is deceiving for them to say, you can get your parking validation from a store. Well,... More

That's what I said whenever someone suggested visiting the Shops at Wailea. Well, this time I learned that there is a Maui Dive location on premises, so it seemed to make sense to drop my boogie board off there, rather than drive to Kehei on our last day. That decision cost me $1550 -- the price of the limited edition... More

used to be a great place to have coffee and do some recreational shopping, but now they have instituted a paid parking system. So goodbye relaxing time walking around shopping, now you get gouged by steep parking fees on way out. just goes to show how out of touch management is with the community there. must be some upset shop... We traveled to Wailea for lunch at The Shops at Wailea. I wasn't surprised to see paid parking as this is the practice at other shopping areas on Maui. The fee is waived if you purchased something from a shop or eat at a restaurant. We eat at Tommy Bahamas and they cheerfully gave us the validation ticket. There is... More

I have been shopping here since 1987. Parking was always free and accessible. This is Maui, not Oahu! But now the non-Maui owners have started charging to park. 30 minutes free - try shopping or eating in 30 minutes - then $6 an hour!! The small shops are going to get killed - I hope they all move out. No... More

We stayed in Wailea so luckily it was walking distance for us, but parking is expensive. The shops are all mainly high end with whalers and abc stores. Got a few snacks from there and beer was decently priced. Wouldnt really go back unless i needed some quick snacks.

STAY AWAY from this place! First of all, they are blatantly deceptive since they did not even bother to tell you that you were going to be charged for parking. It was like they wanted you to take your time spending LOTS of money at high priced shops, and THEN surprise you when you left about the $3.00 PER HALF... More

This WAS a great little gem of a mall. The switch to paid parking is ridiculous and greatly takes away from the spirit of Aloha.

Parking is $3 per 30 minutes. Sign says first 30 minutes are free (grace period). We got a parking validation for 1 hour from a store we shopped at. We were there for exactly 1 hour and 2 minutes, and were charged $3 for 2 minutes?!?! What a bleepin JOKE! LIES.

By definition, "shopping" means: browsing, looking around, comparing. Elegant, shaded, and comfortable the Shops at Wailea merchants entice you to buy with atmosphere and welcoming service. Not any more. Now you are ripped off for entering the place. Paid parking, with no posted charge at the entrance will surely discourage shoppers, and would-be buyers. Make no mistake, this place doesn't... More
