We were looking for a unique family adventure & this activity did not disappoint! It felt like we had our own private charter for 2 1/2 hours. Our guides Donnie & Dave were very accommodating & friendly. Examples: on the day our trip was originally booked the wind conditions were not favorable so they re-booked us for the next day.... Our family of four had a wonderful time on this special sailing trip. We had the canoe all to ourselves and Donnie and Nate were great guides and made sure we were comfortable with towels and waters. We sailed out directly from the Fairmont beach as Donnie and Nate told us all about the canoe, the islands and the water.... More

I went out twice with Maui Sailing Canoe (Hawaiian Sailing Canoe Adventures) in December of 2014. The first time there was only a light breeze and we moved along leisurely, and our two guides had to paddle a fair amount. It was quite pleasant. They subscribe to the philosophy of care and respect for the environment, which I appreciate. The... More

Donny and Keiani took excellent care of us during our sail and took the time to point out manta rays, turtles and whales. It was a wonderful and relaxing experience vs a larger powered vessel. I highly recommend this as an alternative to the massive catamarans that ply these waters for snorkeling trips. On the way back, Donny and Keiani... More

We are a family of 4 and had the canoe all to ourselves. Kids (10,8) declared this a trip highlight. We took the 8am trip and it was great. We swam with turtles, saw a spotted ray, eel and tons of fish. Donnie and Brian (crew) were amazing with our kids - they were able to paddle the canoe, my... More

Our family wanted to do something a little different during our Maui vacation & we found it with the Hina, a traditional Hawaiian sailing canoe. Donny & Nathan were our guides as we sailed into the magnificent blue ocean, where we learned about the history of the sailing canoes & the Hawaiian culture. After sailing for awhile, we anchored near... More

Turquoise waters, spiraling dolphins, and Donny and Nate made our sailing trip a highlight of our stay in Maui. Don't look any further for an exhilarating experience for your body and soul.

Had an amazing journey on the Hina today, beautiful ocean and mountain views, and the most knowledgeable and friendly crew, Nate and Donnie. We were able to see dolphins, and one spun right in front of us, saw turtles swimming in the ocean, and saw a bottle nose dolphin zipping thru the water. Highly recommend the trip, enjoying the sand... More

We chose this trip for several reasons: Eco friendly; small group/more intimate (no more than 6, we were lucky and had just 4); sail an outrigger canoe, which sounded like great fun. The trip did not disappoint. Our lead guide Donny was very knowledgeable and friendly, we did some great snorkeling and saw a number of turtle and of course... More

My boys and I were able to get on yesterday at the last minute. The captain has known us for years and we wanted to go again since my one boy was sick last time. Donnie and Nathan were the best. There was another couple with us and they loved the experience also. This is the true way of experiencing... More
