It took us two hours to get to the falls from Cienfeugos. Not really worth the drive. The guide told us right away that it was the dry season, and so the waterfall was mostly a trickle and much of the river was dried up. He recommended coming back in May! Not going to happen but wich I had known... More

Visited El nicho waterfalls during my most recent trip to Cuba. Growing up as a kid this was one of my favorite places to visit since my grandfather lives there. Hadn't been back in 16 years and it looked at beautiful as I remember it. Is a long walk up but definitely worth it. I recommend taking water and comfortable... More

Definitely one of my favourite things to do in Cuba. No need to book a tour through a company - our tour got cancelled so our casa host booked us a taxi for 80 CUC (between 4 of us), they drove us up and waited for us as long as we wanted. The walk is absolutely fine, some steps and... More

good to look at, just think that this is where your drinking water comes from. It cost about $15.00 CUC for the taxi to go there and back from Cienfuegos.

A nice trip throught the countyside and then into the mountains east of Cienfuegos, with a short stop to stroll in a hilltop village. Visiting the school is interesting. The hiking in the mountains at a nature reserve was fabulous and the guide, Thomas, was very knowledgeable and had quite the eye for spotting birds such as hummingbirds and the... More

The waterfalls are a hidden gem in the hills above Cienfuegos. There is a steady climb up to the top of the falls through lush forest full of birdlife. Along the way there is a pool that can be swum in but the climb to the top is rewarded with the chance to swim in a beautiful pool under a... More

So beautiful lush and uncluttered....not too many people there when I visited.. laid back.. and VERY romantic .....swimming in the waterfall is as natural as you can get.. hiking the easy trail is fun, the only complaint was the food n the restaurant was not very appetizing...stick with the bland burgers! This place is for children and young people NOT... More

You have to see these! A little hidden in the mountains but well worth the trip. Waterfalls and pools, you can also swim, if so inclined!

The water fall is pretty. SWIMMING IN THE NATURAL POOLS IS THE TREAT. Make sure you bring bathing suit. We hired a car/ taxi for the day $40 CUC from Cienfuegos and it was well worth it. Once there you pay 9 CUC to get in to the falls. There is also an inexpensive restaurant in natural i enviroment... This... More

A great way to spend the afternoon, hiking to a waterfalls. An easy hike to the first and second falls. At the second falls is a crystal clear pool in which to swim. Very refreshing and relaxing. A little bit pricy @ $10.00 including parking, but then again you are on holidays. It is worth it.
