For my new book THE CUBAN EVOLUTION, I took many pictures of this historic square. It is a great example of nineteenth century European style planning, The central park is like one you might find in Paris or Barcelona while around the park are numerous notable buildings of historic and cultural interest, especially the cathedral and the theatre. Unlike much... More

Plaza Jose Marti is just wonderful as well as the rest of Cienfuegos which everyone falls in love with at first sight so if you don't believe in love at first sight then go and enjoy yourself in Cienfuegos!

The heart of the town, good bars and museums on the square, and the interesting Tomas Terry theatre. The heart of the town in the evening.

We were here in the evenings. There were many places to buy trinkets and Cuban cigars in the shops. The restaurants are pretty good here. You can fill up with about two CUUC (dollars). in one of these restaurants with air condition systems.

This plaza is pretty and offers Wifi which we did not use but the locals do. The bar next to the theater offered a wonderful concert of local artists for free so make sure you check that out!

Probably the main attraction in Cienfuegos. The architecture of the buildings makes it worth visiting, unable to access the building themselves.

Have been to this place many, many times over the last 30 years. It is a pleasant place, with a lot of shade and benches to relax and watch people going by. It is surrounded by municipal and provincial buildings, museums and a teatro "Tomas Terry". At a corner is a cathedral, which is under repair for the last 6... More

This park, in the center of Cienfuegos, is a fitting tribute to Jose Marti, a Cuban national hero, who known as the “apostle of Cuban independence.” The park is in the center of several impressive buildings, including the iconic Teatro Terry and an old, but still regal cathedral. There is an impressive statue of Jose Marti in the center of... More
