Probably the main attraction

Probably the main attraction in Cienfuegos. The architecture of the buildings makes it worth visiting, unable to access the building themselves.

Have been to this place many, many times over the last 30 years. It is a pleasant place, with a lot of shade and benches to relax and watch people going by. It is surrounded by municipal and provincial buildings, museums and a teatro "Tomas Terry". At a corner is a cathedral, which is under repair for the last 6... More

This park, in the center of Cienfuegos, is a fitting tribute to Jose Marti, a Cuban national hero, who known as the “apostle of Cuban independence.” The park is in the center of several impressive buildings, including the iconic Teatro Terry and an old, but still regal cathedral. There is an impressive statue of Jose Marti in the center of... More

Pleasant and uncrowded square surrounded by impressive buildings, many open to public although on day I was there it was predominantly private events. Close to shops, street market and seafront.

This is a sweet little square to sit and watch the people of Cienfuegos. Dusk is lovely as the sun sets over the historical buildings of the square.

Looked at by the Cubans at the same level as Socrates, the plaza dedicated to Jose Martinez is remarkable and full of knowledge and sightseeing.

A good place to take pictures when exploring the city. This park is very close to the La Union Hotel.

Everybody seems to come here:- kids and parents, old and young, sitting, chatting, walking… and with the cathedral, Teatro Tomas Terry, City Hall (they didn’t let us in), fountain, statues… there is every reason to visit. And then there are plenty of benches, including some in the shade, to rest between visits. As befits the French antecedents of the town,... More

If you go to Cienfuegos, you will not want to miss the Plaza. Go in the church, the Terry Theater and shops around the Plaza. Tourist aren't allowed in the City Hall but you can admire the architecture from the sidewalk! The craft shops on the street had some of the best wooden carved cars in Cuba.
