Beautiful mansion on the edge of the Mississippi

Rosalie is a beautiful antebellum home located on the edge of the Mississippi. The docents are knowledgeable and friendly. The tour takes perhaps an hour.

Tour guide Nancy made tour even more interesting with her recanting of house's history. Beautiful home with most of the original furnishings.

Of the three houses we toured in Natchez, this was my favorite. Our tour guide was excellent, sharing stories of the families who lived in the house through the Civil War and up into the latter part of the 20th century. Most remarkable is the fact that all the furniture is original to the house because it was stored away... More

This is one of the most important homes historically on the Pilgrimage Tour. Good one for history buffs. Impressive furnishings inside. Overlooks the river. Spacious grounds. Good photo opportunities around the grounds and buildings.

We toured several houses in Natchez and Rosalie was one of our favorites. Very formal house yet still has a lived-in aura. We visited during Pilgrimage and the docents were top notch, in period costume and very knowledgeable about the history of the home and its occupants. The setting is one of the most spectacular of the Mississippi river mansions... More

I loved the story told by the docent about the residents being allowed to live in the house during its occupation by Union officers. It has been well-kept, and is like stepping back into history. The only think I did not like was that we were not allowed to take photographs inside.. This was a trip of a lifetime and... More

Just what a guide should be! Super knowledgeable, happy to receive and answer questions. An awesome story of family loyalty, and so much more! Right on the main street into downtown (Canal) so easy to access. A treasure! And DAR owned.

There was much history and interesting stories associated with this house. To see it and be there is as though you are stepping back in time. Back to a time of Southern Grandeur. The house itself was elegant and enjoyable to tour. It was interesting to learn that the Union Army leaders respected the family and their house during the... More

Our visit there was ruined by the rudeness of one of the employees. We were "greeted" by a sullen woman who shoved a booklet at us and when we tried to ask her questions, we were made to feel unintelligent. This woman actually grunted at my husband. Our bus load of people were subject to hearing her making dinner plans... More

This is probably my families favorite mansion in Natchez. The mansion's story is interesting and the people are friendly. We highly recommend!
