Family fun

Took this walk with the whole family. Good little walk, interesting facts along the way, not too long. My 4 year old loved it.

The trail really puts the scale of the mountain into perspective. Not a hard hike and worth every step.

Lots of stairs. We went clockwise which seemed the "best" way to go. I have arthritis in both knees and used a cane to deal with the stairs. Beautiful views from this trail.

The trail is not strenuous and it gives you different views of the presidents along with additional information on each one. It is worth the steps.

The trail is .6 miles. Depending on the way you go you will have a different experience. We chose to go to the left of the mountain first -- we went downhill a bit then took several small flights of stairs with long pathways between. We were walking on a deck like structure. The trail offers some beautiful views of... More

A great addition to Mount Rushmore. You get a totally different angle of view of the carvings and the intricacy of the work. Lots of steps if you take the whole trail but not bad from the visitor center to the carvings and back.

My family walked the Presidential Trail. It was definitely worth it and gave us an even better view and pictures of Mount Rushmore. We even saw a deer.

Why not---it is a free addition to your Mount Rushmore experience! Might as well see it all while you are there!

Located to the left of the amphitheater. Nice, wide paved trail with some wooden planks at times. Very nice walk, with very close views (mostly of George). There is a section with steps, but you could turn around at that point if you wanted.

Lots of stairs but plenty of chances to take breaks if needed. Benches are also in a few spots along the way. I would suggest taking some bottled water as there are no water fountains or bathrooms on the trail. We were super happy we did it.
