You can do this walk clockwise or counterclockwise; the sculptor's studio is closer to the right side (facing the monument). This interesting 15 minute talk - with the scale model behind the ranger and the monument visible through the huge studio window at the same time - was my favorite part of the visit to Mt. Rushmore. The talk was... More

Take a hike on the Presidential trail and you will get amazing views of the monument and also will enjoy some peace and quiet in a place where everyone has a camera and is trying to get the perfect shot!

I wish our founding fathers could walk along that superbly done trail and see just how much was put into making sure that they were loved and appreciated. The trail is exceptional and I highly recommend that every American take the time to go there.

This is a very interesting walk where you see the Presidents from different angles. Well worth the effort!

Take the trail to the left of the monument and you will get lots of down-stairs first, then lots of up-stairs second. Either way you will have very good views of Mt Rushmore.

It is an amazing walk that you can take at your own pace and get to see Mount Rushmore up closer. I always liked walking the trail when I was a kid and I was happy to go back and do it again.

We have visited the Monument a dozen times but had never walked the trail. It is truly amazing and affords views of the faces that are totally different than from the main viewing areas. You are almost under the carvings and at times are looking almost straight up. Beware that there are lots of wooden stairs and elevation changes. We... More

Lots of great photos await if you can handle this short loop hike. There are lots of stairs on one side, but otherwise this is a great activity for this American landmark. Try the audio tour that goes along on the hike, lots of good information there too.

Such fun! My son and I made photos with each and every one! We were able to discuss facets of their character and their administration (well, most of them) as we walked along. Even the man repairing the sidewalk chimed in!
