This was a very easy loop that took us closer to the faces than we would have seen from the amphitheater. We rented the headsets, which were well worth the $5. We had the entire trail to ourselves, as it was the off-season. I'm really glad we came when we did, because the weather was wonderful and I'm not much... More

I am a 60-year-old woman with one replaced knee and one bad knee. I had no problems with this trail. Many of the stairs are down and all have good railings and plenty of places to stop and pace yourself. The views were great - I am so glad I did this.

Great views of otherwise not seen. Gives more perspective on size and artistry. Beautiful on a fall day.

Grab your audio tour device and take the walk. Its worth every step. The views you get of the Mountain are worth the trip alone. The enhanced history lesson included with the audio tour device was icing on the cake.

This trail really makes Mt. Rushmore interesting and fun for kids. The stairs can be a bit much for young ones, but our 3 year-old handled it well.

The walkway gave you a chance to get a little closer to the monument. Though it would be awesome to go up and around the back and see the unfinished "monument hall"

The trail was a beautiful walk. We had gone there in the evening and it was a nice walk being it was cooler. My granddaughter and I really enjoyed being that close to the monuments.

This hike was so interesting, seeing all the terrain and the land layout, the obstacles, and learning the history of the area is fascinating. Lots of up and down, wear good walking shoes and take your time. It's worth it.

I reviewed under Mount Rushmore, so redoing this here as well. I asked Ranger about the trail, as I had knee surgery 7 weeks prior. He casually told me a piece of cake, 6/10ths if a mile. It is 3/4 staircases, up and down, over and over. the only area with an elevator is in main plaza to go down... More
