Wow...what a great trip back in time. Family and I love going to national parks, this place is a another good one. The visiting center was a little out dated and need an over haul, compared to other national park visiting centers,..or I would of given 5 stars. The lay out is really well done...can drive or hike. The Wick... More

Visited on a warm Saturday. The Ranger in the visitor's center was friendly and helpful. Five trails to hike/walk with various levels of difficulty. The tour road also offers a walk, ride, or drive. Signage along trails tells story of Jockey Hollow and Washington's Troops 1777-1781. Small huts replicate the dwellings built by soldiers. Barn and garden replicate the farm... More

This is a great biking/hiking park. It is unique because of the troop barracks used by Washingtons men. Nice park to bring the kids to.

The park entrance is clearly marked. There is a modest sized parking lot, but it has never been full when we have gone. Perhaps there would be if you went at the time of an event. From the parking lot, you can either drive into the park or walk into the Visitor's Center, which has a small gift shop, clean... More

Always a PleasureIt's history in our backyard. You really stop and think that this is where our heritage was started. The calm walk and the gentle environment was not the case when Washington's troops were camped here. Definitely see the movie about life at the camp. I have never seen winters in NJ qute the same. Heat, medicine, boots were... More

This place is well worth a visit. The information presented is very much worthwhile. There was quite a lot of history presented that I did not know.

Not only is there a choice of trails to wander through woods, but each year soldiers from a time long gone demonstrate their shooting skills, how they built their huts, and much more. You'll learn a lot about American history here besides seeing lots of deer and other critters

I recently visited Jockey Hollow with a group to so some light winter hiking, photography, and a historical tour. I remember visiting as a child before the renovations in 1976 and again at that time, this trip brought back many memories. Fist the film, a must see, it's about 15 minutes, it sets the stage. From there I suggest walking... More

Think Washington's army had it easy? Think again! Visit Washington Headquarters and Museum to learn how Washington's army barely survived the encampment of December 1779 to June 1780, where they survived through what would be the coldest winter on record. Lots of room outside for kids to burn off steam but interesting enough inside (you MUST go to the Ford... More

Took the kids to see Jockey Hollow. My father and brother were both in the army and I like to see different barrocks. Especially Novia Scotia.
