Living in this area means you will always get asked 'have you climbed the Montgo'? Well make sure you can say yes by taking yourself up there! There is so much to see with amazing views of Javea, Denia and surroundings in lands, and loads of wildlife when you;re up there. We went with close family and tried to do... More

We did a three hour round trip from the marina at javea. Not walking fast looking at the views. Once on the top, you could extend it down to denia or along to the mountain if you wished. The map boards on route show the options. You can drive right to the marina, past the fish market and park by... More

We've climbed Montgo quite a few times now, so we decided to do a bit more than just to the top and back down again (Javea side). So, once at the peak, we continued along the top ridge, along the centre of the mountain. Then down the Denia side, around the back side and back to the starting point of... More

We did the walk/ scramble to the top of Montgo one warm day in October ( wouldn't try this walk in the heat of July/Aug, unless you go at the crack of dawn) It is a five hour round trip from the bottom to the top if you want to have stops on the way and admire the fantastic views.... More

I climb Montgo every Christmas morning! It's a bit of a scramble in places but the reward is a view to die for. As other correctly say, start early especially in the hotter months or you'll get fried on the climb. Take sensible shoes, water and ensure someone knows the route you're going. Enjoy!

I climbed with my teenage daughter and 10 year old son. You need 2 1/2 to 3 hrs up and 2 hours down. Do not attempt if you are nervous about heights ! My wife (and 7yr old) had to turn round halfway up.The climb especially in the last half hour is pretty nervy, there's no path and you are... More

We live in the area, used to ride halfway up the park on horse back and now frequently go for hikes. Breathtaking views from different location and very often you get the chance to see Jávea's and Dénia's coastline in one single panoramic sweep. Getting up early and being there for the sun rise is advisable.
