We made the visit to this Templar Knights Castle while stopping in the town of Peñíscola. You have to park the car in the town below. The parking is free. You will have to walk till you get to the castle. The Castle has some rooms with the history of the castle and Pope Luna the Antipope after the Avignon... More

Peniscola was a lunch stop on our tour, so we were allowed enough time to tour the castle on the hill. The walk up to it is quite easy, there are plenty of eateries and tourist shops on the way. The castle itself is very well preserved, it was built by the Knights Templar and has a lot of history,... More

Although the rooms are little furnished impresses with environment and architecture. Of course the story of Pope Luna and Templar makes the environment even more amazing. It's a must-visit

If you spend a little time in Peniscola you get to see the castle from many angles. It is really worth a visit and is a fascinating historical site. There is a short translation in English in each room which is brilliant! We went to see the Templar exhibition which is well worth the two euros! Even though written in... More

This is an excellent place to visit and see when in tPeniscola. Anyone with a remote interest in Templar history should visit this site. It has christian roots with the Pope who lived there, There is a yard with birds in captivity that is worth seeing. The city behind the walls has incredible crafts and boutiques and the restaurants are... More

What a lovely place, the castle and views are beautiful but the templar exhibition is only explained in Spanish with no other language options so after paying to see it, we came out understanding nothing more about the Spanish Knights Templar, everybody was friendly, the beaches are beautiful and there is no end of welcoming restaurants.

We stayed in a hotel in the old town and this castle was just up the hill. It is quite impressive and is well maintained, as others have said the views from here are worth the climb. The view from the beach looking at the castle is also worth of a photo.

The castle is extremely beautiful, but only pay the entrance fee if you want to enjoy the views of Peniscola from the top. Otherwise, is enough just with a walk around it.

No wonder, the jewel of Peniscola. Only to see this castle it is worth to visit the city. It has various towers and buildings, catacombs, terraces, and incredible views. Do visit this.
