Didn't know this part of the medieval (upheaval) history of the catholic church so it came as quite a surprise to find such a magnificent piece of history when we arrived. Castle fortification lovers will enjoy the awesome security of this structure.

It's a very romantic place to walk up too. Cost a bit of energy, but well worth it. Give's you the feeling that you're going back into time! Many great restaurants and great views from the Castle. Go up early in the morning or at dawn for a more pleasant temperature.

A wonderful fortified medieval town, very well preserved and still inhabited, situated on a tiny peninsula. The main point of interest is the castle(you have to pay a little fee if you want to visit it,but it worth every cent),built by templar knights. It can be reached by bus(or by car) from Benicarlo. In the neighbourhood-an wonderful sandy beach.
