Carroll Creek Park has been in a big remodel. Most of the main phase is now complete and beautiful. The creek walkways are European in that they meander with the creek connecting park space with downtown neighborhoods and area retail. You can take a stroller or wheelchair most anywhere and then stop off for coffee or a beer or wine... More

This park is one of the highlights of visiting Frederick, whether in the shopping area or out along Baker Park or any of the other features along the paved, flat, easy and entertaining trail. Great for runners, walkers, kids, and everyone old or young. Nice to see the ducks and geese in the creek and in the lake. Just lovely.... More

Walk the creek and listen to live music. Eat at the many local restaurants and watering holes. From cheap burgers and the best fries anywhere to fine dining that rivals the best of D.C.

A great evening stroll, listening to live music at Alive at Five, Frederick's Thursday summertime early evening out, or a nice place to eat outside without car noise makes this one of Frederick's relaxation places. A place to sit and ponder the water lilies or a friendly place to bring your dog for a walk, it's a destination for locals... More

We spent the evening strolling around downtown Frederick for Fire in Ice. Eventually, we ended up at Carroll Creek where the creek was completely iced over. I thought about trying to walk on it but then thought better of it. Instead, we just enjoyed the ice sculptures and fire from the burner of a hot air balloon on display. Sadly,... More

This man-made, sidewalk-lined canal runs through downtown Frederick. There are interesting historical markers, koi in the canal, and great shops and restaurants along the canal. Loved it!

When I first moved to Frederick, this wasn't really a lark, just a concrete sidewalk with a creek running down the middle. It is now a beautiful park with benches to sit on to gaze upon the creek or watch people go by. It's used often for celebrations and festivals which are interesting and fun. During the summer there are... More

At the south end of Market Street, we enjoy red this pleasantly landscaped waterside walk. Bring some food for the giant carp who swim beside the bridge. Beware there is not much to find in the old town south of here.
