Owner description: Over fifty exhibitions are shown at the Delaplaine each year in eight different galleries. “We strive to maintain a balance between the familiar and the avant-garde, the local and the regional, and the professional and the amateur artist,” explained Manager of Exhibits Diane Sibbison. The center provides the Frederick region with educational opportunities and experiences in the visual arts through classes, exhibits, and programs and it does so with enthusiasm and a creative flare.

Looking for something cool and free when in Frederick? Walk east along the river walk and find this visual feast. Not only gallery space of rotating exhibits but a beautiful place to sit and view the river area. Nice staff and local and reasonable prices items in gift shop.

Downtown Frederick is a very charming town, lots of brick, old buildings and churches, and a well developed waterfront area. Lots of young people around added a vibrancy, and there is a good deal of history here as well. Walking around Frederick I stopped at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, and it was wondeful. The staff was friendly, and... More
