We came to this region in Spain to see most of its world heritage sites. This is in the UNESCO's World Heritage Lists like some other edifices and walled cities in Galicia.
This Muralla is said as the finest example of a fortification in the whole western Europe. It has its original five gates but some more were constructed later....

Lugo is a wonderful walled city in the province of Galicia. The walls are great to walk around - many of he locals appear to take a lunchtime stroll around the walls - and the walled city and Lugo cathedral are well worth a visit too. Quite a chilly wind was blowing during our visit (April 2010).

The city of Lugo is a well kept secret.
First of all we will start off with the walls. They are about 2.5km in circumference and about 10-15 metres high. Most of what you see was built in the Roman times. Additions have been made over the centuries. The walls area world heritage site. Lugo is the only completely walled...
