Amazing that people will wait in line for hours for this hole in the wall

Well it's just Atlanta. People want to seem cool, they judge how good a club is by how much the parking fee is or how much you have to pay to get in or how long you have to wait... read more

Well it's just Atlanta. People want to seem cool, they judge how good a club is by how much the parking fee is or how much you have to pay to get in or how long you have to wait in line. Johnny's is no exception. As I pulled up in my rental car, trying to find a place to... More

One star for the awesome band (Band X) and one star for the cool, fun people who hang out there, BUT the waitstaff was ridiculously rude, and the bouncers must've thought they were securing some super classy night club when it's really nothing more than a store front in a shopping plaza. Get over yourselves, Johnny's staff, and then this... More

Just moved here and this is the first bar I've been to where everyone, including the other patrons, were kind and hospitable. The bartenders were friendly and I loved the old school vibes! I wish we went here first, all the other bartenders around were cold and careless. The bartenders here are what gives hospitality a good name.

Recently went on a Thursday night for the first time. Walked right in without a wait around midnight. The music was great, an octave too loud though. The dance floor was packed with people of varied ages. Everyone was dancing, so when you needed to set and rest for a minute there was plenty of chairs. I felt good about... More

I took a star off for smoking allowed, but otherwise, a very, very positive crowd! This is a happy people, who all get along and "just wanna have fun place"! Leave your bad attitude at the door. This joint is definitely NOT for misanthropists who hate people because it's wall to wall people. It's not for the pretentious or uptight,... More

We come to Atlanta area and always spend time at Johnnys. It is a throwback to the old days where dancing was fun surrounded by good people. We always have a lot of fun at Johnnys.. and especially love to follow Band X on some Sundays when in town. The food isnt bad either especially the aged steak and shrimp... More

my type of music--although expect a LONG wait to get in, after 10pm. We went BOTH Friday and Saturday nights, waited about 20 minutes on Friday, paying $5 cover, but paid the additional $20 to get to front of line to bypass long wait. Great group of people, from 20s-to 60s, enjoying mostly 70s/80s music. They keep the crowds under... More

This advice is mainly for guys: I checked this place out on a Friday Night with a friend of mine. (two guys) If you like dancing and don't mind dancing with other men's wives and girlfriends, you'll love it. But if you are not that big into dancing, you might want to pass it up. The reason I say this... More

Johnny's Hideaway is definitely a bit of an enigma. They have a dress code in place with no cover to get it. I went there one night while in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, and there was literally 40 people there and the average age was probably 65. That said, everyone there was on the dance floor dancing. It was... More
