The place had great acoustics and Robert Cray Band was excellent. However, we did not get to see the show because of standing room patrons in front of us. I have a great sound system at home with equal acoustics so I could've saved a lot of money staying home in Durham, NC if listening was all we wanted. My... More

The first time I saw Jorma he was still a single pre-Airplane. Jorma & Jack are like fine wine they just keep getting better with time. But the venue is really outstanding. I'd seen acts at the Fox and found the acoustics and house PAs terrible at best. A ton of permit only parking around the place but if diligent... More

Great place to see a live band. The Variety provides excellent acoustics and views. Whenever my favorites come to Atlanta they always seem to play at the Variety.

I had been through Little Five Points before but never stopped because of the creepiness of the area. Never judge a book by its cover. Planned a girl's night out to see The Bangles and everything went great. Drove in about 5:00, found parking right away, two doors down from Variety Playhouse, paid $10. Walked around to some of the... More

Wonderful music concerts at very affordable prices. We have gone to multiple concerts here, including Yonder Mountain recently. However the traffic getting there, the challenging parking situation and the pan handlers make it a dreaded trip. Buying tickets thru ticket master can be a hassle and rip off. However, we will continue to go back

We saw G Love and Special Sauce here 2 nights ago. Great venue!! Lots of standing room downstairs. There was table eating along the sides. We sat upstairs in the balcony. There was a bar upstairs and down. Could only get wine and beer upstairs. Liquor was served downstairs. They also served popcorn. Bathrooms both upstairs and down. Great place!!!

We went to the Hozier show last night & had an awesome time. Neither my boyfriend or I had been to Variety before but it definitely gets the stamp of approval from both of us. Doors were supposed to open at 7 & I think we arrived just prior to that time. We were able to park in the lot... More

Attended the Delbert McClinton concert recently at Variety Playhouse in the Little Five Points/Inman Park area of Atlanta. The venue couldn't have been better - comfortable seating, good acoustics, good beer/wine bar, helpful staff. Really enjoyed the concert but we travelled to ATL from out of town and had never been to the Little Five Points area. Parking is absolute... More

First visit to this venue was great! Variety Playhouse has the character of an older building, while still being clean and in great shape unlike some older establishments. Staff was friendly, beer reasonably priced, nice touch to have snacks available for purchase. Get there early for your pick of great seats. Move to the floor to get close to the... More

I attended all 3 shows of Railroad Earth on December 29-31, 2014. I really like this venue because they have a great mix of seating and dancing space. The sound is good and the staff is friendly and not overbearing or surly. Unfortunately, on the 1st night some jerk decided to tag the interior of the place, so security was... More
