Georgia Shakespeare Theater is truly a professional ensemble. We recently saw "One man Two Guvnors" there. The play itself is a slapstick British comedy and the wrong cast would result in just a silly farce. But they were up to the challenge of presenting the very British comedy in a way that suited there American audience. This is no surprise... More

Saw one of the last performances of this show and loved it! Really blown away by the quality of the production. Have seen theatre all over the world and this ranks with the best. Would see anything put on here. Venue is great too. Easy to get to by public transp. and plenty of free parking too.

Have an outdoor picinic before the play in the newly redecorated lawn area outside the theater. You can buy beer and wine or bring your own. Plays are usually at 8PM and the acting is always good. This is not an expensive date for Atlanta and is always a memorable evening. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for... More

I just went to see Mighty Myths and Legends at GA Shakespeare at Oglethorpe with 4 kids ages 9-11. They were completely engrossed and entertained for the +-90 minutes. I don't think they'd choose the play over a Disney sitcom, but they really, really liked it. I enjoyed the show myself and had the added bonus of feeling good about... More

If you are in the Atlanta Area (or can plan a visit) during the Georgia Shakespeare Season, do not miss it. Even our 12 year old warms to the Bard's plays and words as the incredibly talented group brings them to life. I am so fortunate to live in the Atlanta Area and to support this marvelous experience! Macbeth is... More

If you like Shakespeare's plays even a little, you'll absolutely love the modern versions of his work performed by stunning actors and directed by a fabulous group of professionals. The plays are performed in an intimate theater on the campus of Oglethorpe University. Parking is not a serious problem. The longest hike is about the length of two blocks. If... More

Georgia Shakespeare Festival, located on the Oglethorpe University campus, provides performances of the highest quality. Three plays are presented in repertory during the summer, one in the fall, and a children's play in July. Shake at the Lake is a free presentation at Piedmont Park each year. Despite the name, the company provides a variety of plays, although the focus... More

One of the finest acting companies I have seen. So much talent, such creative productions. An Equity company. Also produces other classics, including contemporary works.

Have been to Shakespeare productions in the past with this company and have never been disappointed. But this show tops them all! Absolutely spectacular. A week later we are stil talking about it with the same enthusiasm and wishing we could be a sound track or a DVD. The show never missed a beat. The music was catchy and funny... More
