I visited Underground Atlanta 16 years ago and I enjoyed myself. I recently returned and was shocked at how this historical shopping area has been left to fall apart. The smell of urine in the elevator and the chipping paint on the walls should have been my first clue that this was not a place to be, but I checked... More

Steve out guide was very sweet and informative. He was a champ taking us out into the rain. It was just my husband and I and Steve provided us a wealth of information on the history of the underground and even explained the reasons for the decline in interest in the area. I wish we could have seen a few... More

I am not sure how much has changed in this underground but what I can say is that as of now, it is not worth the trip at all. The ghetto stores made me feel like I was in a 3rd world country and I could not get to the end fast enough. I am honestly at a loss of... More

We walked through the Underground when we transferred from a Marta train to a shuttle bus bound for Turner field. I can't say that I felt unsafe, but there isn't anything there to justify the trouble of getting there.

We took the walking tour from the Visitors’ Center at Underground Atlanta in late March, and it was time & money well spent! We’re whirlwind-tour kind of people who try to see & do everything (24 hours in Atlanta took us to Stone Mountain by daylight and night for the laser show, CNN Center, Centennial Park, the High Museum, and... While this place may have been a "hip" location at some point in time, it has taken a severe plunge for the worse. The other local malls have much more to offer and are way more clean. I more than likely will never return.

The place would have been great if there weren't that many vacant stores and restaurants. Almost no people and you feel a little bit unsafe. Should be must see, but is just a average place

Well let me start off by saying I have visited the Underground several times. This past time I see a lot of security, very clean area, and friendly merchants. It is geared today to a select culture and not as diverse as it once was in its peak. Some national chains are located here, but the independent merchants are what... More

Very unique setting. My husband and I got arrived from NC a little bit late, but some shops still were open. The people we encountered were nice and helpful. Just seems like the city could bring this very unique place to life! Alot of people want to visit, not just shop but visit, to say they have been there. But... More
