An authentic truffle hunt in the beautiful Umbrian hills, an unforgettable culinary experience, a day spent in the company of colorful locals, a stroll through some stunning countryside... The Wild Foods Gastronomical Adventure is a piece of Italy you will never forget. You spend a day immersed in authentic traditional Italian company, culture and cuisine.

You hunt truffles, cook truffles, eat truffles, as well as get to experience an amazing part of Italy far away from the usual tourist trails. You also experience some traditional 'wild' cuisine, maybe wild boar stew, sauteed hare, or roast guinea fowl. It's great for foodies and wine-lovers, or for anyone just wanting to immerse themselves in the landscape, people and culture of Umbria.

We dragged our feet traveling fm Roma Termini early morning to Spoleto, where Mac picked us. But the rest of the day was simply amazing and we had no regrets! This ain't jus about truffle hunting. We learned the Italian culture and a very interesting farm life of a nice Italian family. Francesca, Mac and their family were amazing hosts!... More

This day with lovely people and animals has the warmest recommendations from us, a swedish group of 5. We are thankful for a wonderful experience in the countryside with professional truffle hunting, in a lovely family place. We enjoyed the tasty food outside and inside, could not have wished for more. It was one of the top 10 days in... More

This trip was one of the highlights of our travels in Northern Italy not just Umbria! This is the Real Deal and a treat for for all of your senses. From learning about truffles and the hunting process - to viewing the Apennines and eating eggs with fresh truffles while drinking prosecco among sheep and dogs - to Nonna and... More

We signed up for the Wild Foods tour a few months before our trip - unfortunately, mother nature delivered a severe storm the day we were scheduled to arrive in Pettino, and the tour was canceled. Mac and Francesca were incredibly helpful in working around this issue, and did their best to find another date for us to come. All... More

Our full day in Pettino was definitely the best day we spent during our 2-week trip in Umbria. We thought we would just be truffle hunting, but the day included seeing all the farm animals and herding dogs, going up into the hills with the truffle dogs to hunt truffles (and finding them), eating the bounty the dogs found, seeing... We 4 Aussie adults loved our day out with you. You have managed to keep the experience authentic and real whilst incorporating and welcoming a large group into your world. We loved scrambling after the truffle hunting dogs and sampling their spoils grated over eggs on the windswept mountains(with extra jackets provided if needed)Watching Nonna working the pasta like generations of... We had a terrific day with Francesca, Mac and their extended family in a farming community high in the hills. Apart from a truffle hunt with Luca and his dogs we also had a great outdoor meal with the family and were introduced to an ancient way of life that has been followed in this farming community for many generations.... A very enjoyable day: wonderful scenery, truffle hunting and tasting, learning how to make pasta from la nonna, and wonderful outdoor family lunch. Delivers on its promises!
