We dropped in on Montioni unannounced, hoping to find the top quality olive oil and red wine that are an important part of our trips to Italy. We were attentively and charmingly guided through the most suitable options and subsequently filled the car with wonderful purchases. On returning home, the quality proved exceptional and we'll definitely return.

Usually great quality and easy access do not combine together but this estate is an exception. Returning from Bevagna, we did an extra stop as we like to compare evoo and wines. There was nobody else apart of us but Gabriele, the owner, was very hospitable. He toasted a few bread slices to taste the oil, then we tried a... More

Montioni was a great place to see how olive oil is made and to see a small, family winery. It's best to make an appointment so you can get a small tour and tasting while you're there. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave the tour in English. The tasting included two kinds of olive oils and the four wines,... More

I traveled with a group of 17 folks from the US on a RoadScholar walking tour of Umbria. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch, trying different wines with each course of the meal. After lunch, we had a tour and an excellent explanation and demonstration of both facilities for pressing olive oil and making local wine by the owner. A most... More

Paolo gave us (the tour group) a tour of his winery and Olive Groves. He explained the making of the wine and the olive oil. It was very informative. His family then served us a delicious lunch with lots of wine!!

Montioni Oil Mill & Winery was part of an organized tour. The facilities are modern, clean, and well appointed, and our host -- the manager of the oil mill and winery -- was a very knowledgeable, gracious guide. We also had lunch in their cafe, and the food was very good.

Paolo Montioni is an artist, disguised as a guy who makes olive oil and wine. He seems rather unknown in his locale, and I find this surprising. His facility is wonderful, a short walk out of the main part of town. His tour was very informative and his preparation was pretty impressive. We arrived in for our scheduled Sunday afternoon...
