I expected just another castle but found this one was well preserved and had the most impressive collection of armor I have seen. The guide was good and answered questions and spoke English. Tour was about an hour long. The castle is privately owned by a well known Austrian family so parts are closed off. Recommended!

The castle is privately owned and is in very good condition. You can only join a guided tour, but it's worth it. The walk up from the village to the castle is very pretty.

Unfortunately it's not possible to stray... More

Preserved in early Renaissance style, this castle has been in the same family for over 500 years. Today a backwater, the region was of great strategic importance from late Antiquity through the Middle Ages and into the 17th Century, and it was fascinating to be reminded that today's borders are a mere accident. Apart from the complex itself, the two... More
