grand old theater restored

Not a bad seat in the house in this wonderfully restored old theater. The sound is good, the visuals stunning, and parking in the lot right across the street. Enjoy

Amazing building. I can not Altria would put a tacky sign on a building they paid to have restored. Great architecture.

Be sure you book your seats on the floor, not the balcony. My biggest disappointment with the renovation of the Altria is that they did not address the cramped seating in the balcony; they just paid to recover the seats. I am over 5'7" and very uncomfortable in the balcony as my legs don't fit. This was the reason we... More

I've attended plays, operas, and a symphony once (even though I'm not crazy about the symphony). The architecture is grand and I mean grand. The acoustics are wonderful, and I even enjoyed the symphony. Richmond has a great symphony, but I'm just not a personal fan of symphonic music. If you're ever visiting Richmond, you owe it to yourself to... More

A fantastic restoration job for a beautiful theater. Very comfortable seating, great visual ambiance and a terrific sound system all helped to make this a great experience.

Gorgeously restored theater from the early 20th century. Originally opened as the mosque, the interior is resplendent with mosaic and motifs from Arabia. Although the seats are somewhat cramped it is an excellent venue.

The acoustics in the theater are beyond terrible. The shows can only be heard from some of the seats

I've been to the Altria Theater for two concerts and was impressed with the facilities. I never saw the theater before restoration. Bathroom and concession proximity is good, no matter what floor you are on. The theater is convenient to VCU and downtown. We are local and usually walk there and take cabs home, so I cannot comment on the... More
