Owner description: Colonial Shooting Academy is the Largest indoor shooting range in the United States! We offer THE premier shooting experience in Richmond, VA. Conveniently located on W. Broad Street, we offer a friendly, state of the art shooting facility for all skill levels, from curious beginner to expert marksman. In September 2012, Colonial Shooting Academy was named a 5-star shooting facility by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. This distinction makes CSA the first 5-star range in Virginia, the fourth on the East Coast and one of the only 25 nationwide. As Richmond's premier shooting facility—and the largest of its kind—our goal is to provide a welcoming atmosphere to anyone interested in shooting, whether you've got experience or not. Our first priority is safety. It's our guiding principle. It starts with education, and it ends with careful and precise planning of every detail, from the front desk to each shooting lane. Before you are able to enter the range, you must first complete a brief 10 minute safety video. This course is provided for free to everyone and is valid for one year. The course stresses the safe handling of firearms, and safety practices we require at all times while on the range. Additionally, we require that safety equipment be worn at all times, and that all guns and ammunition brought to the facility meet our specifications before it can enter the range. Upon entering, you will be accompanied to your lane by the range safety officer.

As a traveler to this city about once a year, I always find myself returning to CSA. I can say without question that this is the finest indoor shooting range in the country, period. I really wish they would expand into other cities (including mine!) They do have another location in VA. The staff is very profession. Great selection of... More

Took my cousin shooting here recently - the building itself is very nice, clean and a great variety of firearms and accessories. Rented an AR-15 with a laser dot sight; you watch a quick safety video which is good. Rental and ammo was cheap & the range itself was very nice- looking forward to going back!

Very nice staff, very respectful. Staff is very knowledgeable and treat you like a lady or gentleman. I've been to a lot of ranges where people just ignore you if you're young or too girly. The classes are very interesting and fun - you can tell the instructors take their job seriously. The whole facility is very clean - I... More

My husband and I had always wanted to go shooting together and we are so glad that we chose CSA. The staff explained the different types of hand guns to us. We really enjoyed the experience.

Good membership program. Good video training program before you are allowed to shoot. Nice ranges with good filtration. Range monitors to keep everyone safe. They rent automatic weapons. Parking is sometimes a problem. Reserved time for members. Gun sells are just ok in regards to price. Very high (even for members) FFL transfer fee. This is the best range in... More

I've been here several times. I have found it to be a clean, modern and extremely safe environment. Range safety officers put an emphasis on safety. Store is well stocked with a wide variety of items. You can rent guns and also sell them there. Prices are reasonable.

I am a beginner who has yet to purchase a gun, however, I have been to C.S.A. four times now and could not be more impressed. From their variety of gun rental choices, to the friendly staff, to the impressive cleanliness and professionalism, you can't possibly get better than this. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ALL GUN LOVERS!!!

Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly front desk person who proceeded to give us a nice tour of the facility. As we were just visitors for the week, a membership was not needed, however if I did live in the region I would definitely be a member. This IS a First Class operation! (and Safe) I would love...
