Richmond Ballet Performances

Excellent venue for ballet productions, both from a sound and visual prospective. Parking for heavily attended events sometimes a bit of an issue so plan to arrive early.

A wonderful venue to attend any performance. The restoration of the old movie palace into a state of the art theatre is incredible. I highly recommend.

The show we saw was really great, but my husband is 6'2" and I am 5'11" and we honestly could not sit in the seat comfortably. We both had our knees up on the back of the seat in front of us. We were in the 3rd balcony, so I don't know if the seats on the floor are any... More

Great performing arts venue. It has a historic refurbished large theater and a couple of smaller spaces for different types of performances. Great concession and lots of nice new restrooms. The historic theater has acoustic "clouds" and some wonderful crafty details.

This is one of my very favorite venues in Richmond. It is a gorgeous theater, very ornate and beautiful, and we had a fantastic time seeing Weird Al Yankovich perform. The sightlines to the stage from our orchestra-level seats were great, and sound was definitely no problem (it was even a bit too loud, in some cases). Ushers were very... More

Enjoyed seeing Brit Floyd, great show. Seats are very comfortable. However not any extra room to dance. Accoustics were fantastic. Bar was very limited, but not bad for a theatre. I bet it would be great to see many other types of concerts and performances.

Was this part of the Golden Age of Movie Theaters in the twenties? It has that zany, exuberant decor of faintly Italian-Moorish baroque arabesques. Modern suspended baffles have improved the sound (I heard the excellent Richmond Symphony Orchestra), but the old wooden seats are uncomfortable and do not provide enough leg room (knees in the neck before you). Too few... More

Me and my family went to a free, evening, Youth Orchestra Symphony Concert on, Sunday, May 18, 2014. The Youth Orchestra Concert was held in the wonderful and historic Richmond CenterStage Carpenter Theater, which is a historical Landmark, in Downtown Richmond Virginia. The Theater was recently renovated and restored to its beauty, and was quite comfortable and a fun building... More

The "Carpenter Center" is a fabulous place for performances of any kind. My wife and I have been here on numerous occasions....not a bad seat in the house really. A most enjoyable night out.

The lobby isn't spacious and the seats are a little crowded, but that's the price you pay for the luxury of an antique building. Opulent is the only word I can use to describe the decor. It feels like a Broadway theater in New York. Sound is great. I love it here!
