This is one of my very favorite venues in Richmond. It is a gorgeous theater, very ornate and beautiful, and we had a fantastic time seeing Weird Al Yankovich perform. The sightlines to the stage from our orchestra-level seats were great, and sound was definitely no problem (it was even a bit too loud, in some cases). Ushers were very... More

Enjoyed seeing Brit Floyd, great show. Seats are very comfortable. However not any extra room to dance. Accoustics were fantastic. Bar was very limited, but not bad for a theatre. I bet it would be great to see many other types of concerts and performances.

Was this part of the Golden Age of Movie Theaters in the twenties? It has that zany, exuberant decor of faintly Italian-Moorish baroque arabesques. Modern suspended baffles have improved the sound (I heard the excellent Richmond Symphony Orchestra), but the old wooden seats are uncomfortable and do not provide enough leg room (knees in the neck before you). Too few... More

Me and my family went to a free, evening, Youth Orchestra Symphony Concert on, Sunday, May 18, 2014. The Youth Orchestra Concert was held in the wonderful and historic Richmond CenterStage Carpenter Theater, which is a historical Landmark, in Downtown Richmond Virginia. The Theater was recently renovated and restored to its beauty, and was quite comfortable and a fun building... More

The "Carpenter Center" is a fabulous place for performances of any kind. My wife and I have been here on numerous occasions....not a bad seat in the house really. A most enjoyable night out.

The lobby isn't spacious and the seats are a little crowded, but that's the price you pay for the luxury of an antique building. Opulent is the only word I can use to describe the decor. It feels like a Broadway theater in New York. Sound is great. I love it here!

This is a nice theater that has recently been renovated. It is very clean and nicely decorated. The views and acoustics are good. The seats are a little tight, but definitely more comfortable than The Landmark. Biggest complaint is that there are limited exits in the balcony and only one bathroom upstairs. This creates a bit of a traffic jam... More

This is a family favorite so I took my son for his birthday. The theater is very lovely. The seats are comfortable and the view of good even in the balconies. But the real beauty is in the stars and clouds in the ceiling, the statues, and the gilding. How lovely!

Sorry, but this is not a great venue. HOwever, due to limited theaters with large capacity, it gets some great shows.

I was at the center last night to see a performance. I was shocked at the interior. While the size of the place is fine the seating is poor. First of all, the seats are placed way too close together. Sitting in the seat I felt like I was on a flight from hell. You know, the lowest of economy... More
