If you're looking for a way for your kids to burn off some energy on a rainy day and don't want to do the "bouncy house" thing, this is the place. The facility is rather large and can get quite busy at times which makes keeping track of your kids problematic. Tey have various rooms for the kids to play... More

I took my 2yr old son to the Children's Museum Short Pump location. It was OK. I think the downtown location would have been much better. The only thing he really enjoyed was the paint and play room that they have set up. Other than that he found the play equipment to be boring =/ More

This is a Childs dream but a parents nightmare! Having so much potential, the Children's Museum just misses the mark during the week! When schools visit for their field trips it is chaos at it's worst! There are no rules as to behavior for school trips and all the children are running a muck. Visit on the weekends is much... More

This Children's Museum has a lot of things for the little ones to do. Even has an outside play area for the warmer months. Water play, climbing areas, craft area and so much more. My son loves this place. He's getting a bit old for it, though. Definitely geared toward the younger set - my son is six now. More

This is a wonderful place to take your children. Our 2 1/2 year old had a blast exploring and interacting at every turn. Price is a little steep, but if yoou make it a day trip it is worth it. More

This was a fun trip. A little busy both in the weekends and weekdays! More

when compared to a couple of other children's museums we have visited - esp boston and raleigh - unfortunately this place can't compete. the water play area was quite smelly and several of the outdoor toys - bikes, etc - were broken. the newer one in short pump was barely worth a vist -- very small and not many activities... We decided to hit up the museum on the last day of our visit and were there for about 2 hours but wish we could have stayed all day. It was so much fun! A little bit of everything for kids to do there! More

I was babysitting my grand-son and his parents told me this was a good place to take him. He already had a membership, so I didn't even bother pricing the place. I would say that the Short Pump location appeals to the toddler to pre-school crowd. There were a few things that dealt with science, a large area that housed... More

It's great for toddlers and preschoolers. Older artistic children will enjoy the art area, but the other areas are more appropriate for younger kids More
