I only had an hour, so looked into the modern art, Art Deco and photo exhibitions. Good selection, well presented. Could have stayed longer, but saw the things that really interested me!

Pleasantly surprised by the depth and breadth of this great collection. Comparable to larger metropolitan museums. Highly recommended. The new modern addition is nicely done with great outdoor space to sit and enjoy the weather.

One of the best values and venues in RVA. Food is creative and reasonably priced, capitalizes on local ingredients with great presentation. Great for dates or entertaining folks from out of town. Walk through the galleries after eating. A true gem!

This place has a few good items from many art periods from Byzantine up to modern. Eclectic collection, and a great way to spend a couple of hours with family. On Sundays at least, lots of free parking on the street around the building; $5 to pay park if street filled. Free admission. Not a great museum shop; few bargains... More

A very nice museum for this city of this size. The permanent collections are wonderful to see; mid 20th century to Art Nouveau. A neat way to tour the city- after viewing the Egyptian collection; you can take a self-guided city walking tour downtown and find the Egyptian building in Richmond. Tour the East Asian collection; then go see the... More

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is a truly inspiring place to visit. Regardless of whatever (if any) traveling exhibit they may be showing, they also have a lovely collection of Faberge eggs, beautifully arranged rooms of various style periods, some lovely Chihuly glass, including red glass 'cat-tail' type pieces in a water bed bordering the tasty downstairs cafeteria where... Great place to visit for anyone. They have an extensive collection. Saw the Picasso exhibit and the Hollywood costume collection. Check for special exhibits. There is a charge for the special exhibits.

I love this museum. It is quite diverse and well laid out. I've been visiting it for years. My favorites? Faberge and Mummies.
