We've been here before but there are always new and excellent exhibits to see. This time the exhibits of Japanese artwork were worth the trip. The presentation of the pieces, their descriptions and explanations of how the work was made were quite outstanding. Highly recommended.

VMFA is where we like to spend our Sunday afternoons. They always have wonderful exhibits and the staff is very pleasant! Parking is simple. We learn something new, every time we go!

This is a very nice museum, especially for the price (free)! They have a little bit of everything and a few special exhibits. There was a Japanese collection when we visited. The staff was very nice. I only wish it had been a bit warmer so we could've enjoyed the sculpture garden more.

Jazz nights on Thursday nights have now added an extra dimension to what was already an amazing place to visit before. I highly recommend. One of the best attractions in the City!!

Wonderful museum with many exhibits and large collections. Great restaurant and jazz Thursdays. Recently had the Chinese exhibit.

This is the best of the best in Richmond from the exhibits, collection to the food. Not only that, it's open 365 days a year. Consider joining, although general admission is free. The museum needs your support

This museum is absolutely amazing, there isn't enough time in the day to take in everything. We were in awe of the ancient art. There is a good variety of art for everyone. There is even art that is questionably art, such as a ceramic head of Buddha looking at a television of himself, I just don't quite get that... More

I have viewed many regular and special exhibits over the years and the quality is first rate. I have purchased several VMFA Memberships and have no regrets. Always an enriching and enjoyable experience.

Because of travel problems, we were in Richmond for an extra day. We decided to try the VMFA, and are very glad that we did! We had limited expectations because we knew very little about the museum. What we found was a modern, well curated, well presented museum. Yes, there are a few too many British Sport (read: horse) paintings,... More

This museum is spectacular. The building design is beautiful. The collection is impressive. The museum store is just plain fun. I took my kids and although they went through the museum at a fast pace, they had a great time.
