Amazing! We are so lucky as Virginians to have this resource and beauty at our disposal. Go there! Every room and collection is worth the time. Amuse Restaurant is an outstanding experience. Everyone should spend some time wandering the galleries, and the gift shop is excellent as well. It is a regular stop for holiday shopping. Love it!

Went to see the forbidden city exhibit. It was wonderful. We enjoyed it and are always satisfied with our trips there.

This is a wonderful museum. Every time I go to Richmond I spend at least a small amount of time admiring either the permanent or the special collections. The outside and inside spaces are beautiful and relaxing. The restaurant is welcoming and has good, affordable food.

Loved this place! They have a very nice selection of quality pieces on exhibit within this beautiful building. Wish that I had more time to spend and will certainly be back. I am one of those people who gets absorbed in looking, admiring and learning. The bookstore and restaurant were not disappointing either. It's a relaxing way to spend an... More

The museum has a sampler of art from all styles and ages. It has one of the better African exhibits. It was also hosting the "Forbidden City" exhibit from the People Republic of China. This is rather disappointing exhibit as it contains silk robes and silk scrolls, but very little else. We were presented with free tickets by members, but... More

Wonderful and diverse permanent collection and great gift shop. Access to the permanent collection was free with a small price for special exhibits. Must see.

parking was $5, admission was free, can't complain about that! I was very surprised at the abundance of items that the museum had, tapestry, roman, African, Asian, silver, furniture, etc. Plus two eateries. I spent about 1.5 hours here, could have easily doubled it, I rushed.

I have been going to Richmond with my husband when he has business there. The Fine Arts Museum is a perfect place to spend a few hours until he meets me there. I enjoy this art museum for many reasons. The building itself is impressive, well lighted and welcoming. Just as a number of other museums have also done, admission... More

In a museum with a wide ranging collection, our favorites are always the Impressionist collections. At least at this time, there was very little. Nevertheless, we did enjoy the Forbidden City show and the variety of art. The museum is easy to get around, and the staff is very pleasant

We were in Richmond for an antique show and were looking for something else to see while were here. This is a very nice museum and free. There is something for every interest. We spent 2 1/2 hours wandering through the different exhibits. A great way to spend the afternoon.
