Enjoyed seeing the Van Gogh, Manet, and Matisse: The Art of the Flower, currently on exhibit through June 21, 2015. As expected, photos were not allowed in the special exhibit but flashless photos are allowed in other parts of the museum. Backpacks and other large bags are not permitted but they do have free bag and coat check-in station at... More

The displays are always tastefully done and informative. It is a world-class museum and is getting some of the best traveling works. A beautiful facility with a great restaurant and gift shop. Join if you can and you will be able to attend every show at no additional charge! I especially liked the Chihuly exhibit and love that the museum... More

We were here for a special exhibition of Tut, The boy king. It was fantastic, th displays were attractively arranged and the onformation was clear andconcise the visitors moved thru the displays at an appropriate rate. There was something for everyone. Parking was excellent, off street and extra price for the special as very reasonable. Will definitly return.

My daughter and I were so happy to visit a museum that was 1) free; 2) of manageable size; 3) had interesting and diverse art on display; 4) had great parking, and 5) was civilized. We have visited many museums, however they are often in crowded cities, the parking is crowded, the food establishments are VERY crowded, and it is... More

This art museum has a great permanent collection and gets wonderful special exhibits. It is very professionally done. Great gift shop, and excellent restaurant too. It is reasonable to join, and very economical if you visit frequently, as tickets for special exhibits are included with membership. General admission is free. There is a modest charge for parking in their garage.... More

I have been to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts about four times in the past year. The admission fee is free. They offer a student membership for a small fee, you get free parking and unlimited access to their yearly exhibitions. The Museum is a fun place for kids, teens, and adults. Everything is very modern, and well kept.... More
