This was a nice, money saving, activity. My husband and I went and thought it was delightful. Our tour guide was knowledgable and everything around was quiet. The only reservation I have is to look at the weather!

My mom and I did the canal tour last weekend on a beautiful spring day. It was a little shorter than I expected, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Our captain had interesting facts about the area and I enjoyed getting a new perspective on Richmond. I would recommend doing it if you are in the area and are looking for... More

40 minutes down the canal with little to see. The guide was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly but it just doesn't do it. The seating on the boat is very cramped, street noise made it difficult to hear what was being said. Okay only $6 but there were other things you could do.

Quite a disappointing experience. Our guide was enthusiastic, but difficult to hear. The trip along the canal was by the highway and railway, past Skid Row and was visually unappealing. The highlight was seeing snapping turtles. Even for $6 this is a trip I suggest you avoid

For only 6 dollars, you have to do this when in Richmond. We had a very friendly guide named Cotton. You do a small tour of a part of the canal, about 40 minutes. You learn a lot about Richmond. Worth it, just do it!

We stumbled upon this tour one Sunday evening while strolling down the Canal Walk. A tour was just about to pull out, and our guide stopped to allow us time to buy tickets and hop on. The price was pretty cheap ($5 for adults), and well worth the price of the history and scenery we saw. The tour guide was... More

Inexpensive ($6 each) pleasant historical cruise on the Richmond canal. Runs every hour on the hour.

The tour was very nice and informative but our tour guide was a little scruffy! You can tell he has given this tour MANY times. Some of us almost fell asleep. We also noticed an odor as we passed by him. It is a unique treasure for Richmond, VA! Please be aware that there are no public restrooms for this... More

I recently got this deal on Groupon and tried it out. When I got there it was about a 30 min break before the boat left so we walked around the Canal Walk. When boarding you see how tight it is. You are knee to knee with the person directly accross from you. There is a bench in the middle... More

I am glad we chose to do this. I liked hearing the history of the canal and the knowing about the old building along the canal. Short ride. Only takes 40 minutes. Only $6. Good price.
