I have been to Lewis Ginter several times...the latest for the Christmas light illumination--awesome. The gardens are beautiful even in the winter. Do not miss the Conservatory--just gorgeous! The staff could not be kinder. It is a great place to visit and have lunch or tea at the cafe. Just be sure to give yourself enough time to visit the... More

Love to visit this garden. So many areas to explore and Gardenfest is always a treat. Definitely something for everyone there and so well taken care of.

December was unseasonably warm, and with various visitors in town, I tagged along with friends to observe the lights at the GardenFest event. It was a pleasant evening stroll around the garden looking at the lights in the trees, flower beds, statues etc while the kids (ranging from 4-11 years of age) ran up and through the treehouse, played in... The Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens are something tourist and local Richmonders will enjoy and be glad they came. The grounds are wonderful, and the conservatory is amazing. In season, be sure to visit the Tea House, and on any visit be spend some time in the gift shop. Be sure to check on the butterflies. They are magnificent. Individuals, a couple,... More

I have been to many Botanical Gardens in various states from North to South. I specifically visited the Gardens for celebrating the New Years Eve but was amazed not just the enormous Lighting decorations but the whole Garden itself. It certainly impressed me over and above others. Fortunately, the first time I visited was for the New Years Eve and... More

Go see this display of thousands of lights throughout the gardens. I would not pay more than the 6 dollars we paid because we had coupons for bogo. 12 is way too much for this. It is beautiful and there was lots of neat photos that could have been taken. They had marshmallows you could buy and toast by a... More

We went to Richmond to visit family and were fortunate to walk the Lights at Ginter Park. It was amazing to see everything ablaze. The theme were fishes of all shapes and varieties . The most interesting items I found were all the plastic recycled bottles to make lights, animals and trees. Over 4000 volunteer hours! WOW! What q team.

It's nearly over ... less than one week left! The outdoor lights draw strolling couples and families. The great botanic house that commands the property is also open during the festival, where you'll see holiday trains and a spectacular orchid collection. The library houses more garden books than you knew existed, and a whimsical nautical holiday display. You want to... More
