Great place to bike along the charles and relax on the shore. Cambridge side is a little nicer with more green space, bigger bike lanes, and by the BU bridge has a workout spot. So rent a Bike from Hubway and hit the trail

Found this trail to be nice and long with minimum road crossings. Some sections were bumpy but overall nice, with some sections tree-covered. Best to use in early morning during the summer months. Lots of places to stop and rest.

Boston has many must-experience features, but the Charles River sets the perfect background for all of them. Bike paths on both sides are miles long, often traveling through park land that includes boathouses, playgrounds, outdoor music, and outstanding views of the Boston and Cambridge skylines that include Harvard, MIT, and Boston Universities. You won't truly understand Boston unless you bike,... More

We started from Cambridgeside Galleria parking lot and rode about 5 miles down Memorial Drive (Cambridge) and then crossed over bridge near BU and rode back up Storrow Drive (Boston). Next time we would park further down in a free parking lot and work our way into the city. We would love to do this ride again especially in the... More

The Royal Sonesta offers complimentary bicycles for guests. Highly recommend a ride along the river. Watching people lining up for the 4th of July festivities at least a full day ahead of time was intriguing. The river bustles with life always.

Nice path to keep removed from the busy flow of stop and go traffic in the City. My only complaint is the path is heavy with walkers/joggers/lazy relaxers/ people taking photographs. Depending on the time of day, I prefer to deal with car traffic than bob and weave people. The views of the city are lovely; I have caught many... More

The path on both sides of the river have nice views of the river, and the one on the Boston side is better. It goes by the shell where the Boston Pops performed for the July 4th celebration, but there isn't much else there. Great place to run or to commute by bike into downtown Boston.

We wanted to ride our bikes one day and found this bike tour along the Charles River. Wonderful, that would be a great experience. The view of the rowers on the river was cool, but the path itself was TERRIBLE. Very bumpy to the point it was almost unridable. Except around Harvard, where those Harvard people even had lines painted... More
