I've been running around this river for over 6 years now. Each time, morning or night, I look at the Boston skyline is as I've never seen it before - it truly is beautiful. With so many different bridges to cross, you can up your mileage as you please, easily. There are playgrounds along the way, boathouses, water fountains and... More

My husband and I truly enjoyed walking along the Charles River every night during our recent visit to Cambridge. The daffodils were blooming and the nights were clear and crisp. While walking along the river, we could see the lights of Boston and Fenway! The river is full of life during the day as many people are walking, jogging, strolling... More

walking paths on both the Cambridge and Boston sides of the river can also be used for biking. A very relaxing place to get some exercise or just unwind in the sun. If you are more adventuresome you can also rent a boat for a sail on the river. If you are lucky there are free concerts by the river... More

On a nice summer or fall day, this is one of the most picturesque walks around. The area around Harvard is especially wonderful. Get out and get some fresh air!

The Charles feels like you know it from all the movies you've seen forever. Of course I took pictures of the crews rowing down the river. Also walking along you get some great views of the city and see some of the MIT campus
