I stayed at a Hotel around MIT and ran along the river twice in the morning and afternoon and walked once in the evening. I think Charles river is one of the best river to run along because the town along the river is so calm and quiet but not deserted with nature. There are always runners running along the... More

Bridge construction was a nuisance but overall a great place to enjoy Canbridge and get a flavor of the surrounding area. Check out the boat houses and watch rowers on the river.

Run or walk by the Charles. The water twinkles and smiles. There is usually a cool breeze. If you cross over to the other side you can visit Harvard Business School. If you are adventurous - you can sail on the Charles. Lovely that Cambridge has a river...

In foggy weather, the Charles is even more beautiful. Inviting pedestrians and cyclists along serene green banks, it flows silver, lazy and romantic through august Harvard buildings, 19th-century boathouses, the modernist forest of MIT establishments, all the way down to the Boston Museum of Science. It's a wonderful place for a weekend stroll or for watching a regatta and catching... More

The Charles River is beautiful. In warmer months, on Sundays, Memorial Drive, which goes along the river, is closed for bicyclists and walkers.

I walked along the Charles river every morning during my stay in Cambridge. It was so pleasant, beautiful and peaceful- I was a shame I couldn't stay. I will recommend going in the morning as it is very quiet and you can take any pace you want to.

Wherever you're staying in Cambridge, get down to the Charles and just walk shore. Cross the bridges, sit on the grass, and enjoy this relaxing waterway. I'm so glad our hotel room had a river view.

walk along the Charles River to see the skyline ofBoston. There are benches here and there on the walkway along the river(often they are occupied). See the boat houses for MIT and Harvard. In the fall watch the Head of the Charles boat race.

This river that snakes its way through eastern MA has something for everyone. Tour boats and duck boats. Sitting on the banks. The demarcation between the "Left bank" Cambridge, and the "Right bank" Boston. Watching the crews practice in the early morning. The sailboats from community boating. Stretch out on the grass to watch the 4th of July fireworks. Listen... More
