Great host - lots of amusing quips! Great views of downtown Boston, MIT and Harvard. It help us make some decisions about where we wanted to explore.

The Charles River is one of the best features of the Cambridge/Cambridgeport neighborhood where I spent the summer. Very accessible, plenty of grassy areas, some cleaner than others, refreshing shade on a hot summer day. I found the greenway on the Memorial Drive side of the bridge more inviting east of the BU bridge - less trash, a few more... More

The Charles at sunset, the bench, and the Borges story. It was mystical. The river flows and yet you sit there seemingly without changes, so it makes you wonder whether in fact time flows or whether your consciousness just flows over time's eternally stable calendar.

There are a lot of activities to do on the river and the views are beautiful. It's also a great place to walk around or sit to relax. A lot of people seem to enjoy it as well, which makes it a lively place.

Take the boat trip from behind the Cambridge Galleria at Lechmere: you can get a "T" right there. It's worth the $15 for an hour on the river, but you soon realise that the guide is struggling to fill the hour with interesting commentary of what you can actually see. It's a nice trip though, showing the Longfellow Bridge, the... More

Good path for walking, running, jogging. Kayaking, boating canoeing are activites that are often observed. Quite peaceful and the water is serene. Space was available when we were there. Not sure if the water is clean.

It was a very hot day and it was lovely walk between the two bridges with a park either side - we also went passed the MIT building.

Lots of boaters. Parks on both shores. Don't have 50 characters to tell. Annoying constraint. Berfsk.

It is so peaceful and everything on it seems to glide. We saw skullers and kayakers and people out on their canoes having a wonderful time. They only had to compete with the ducks for space.

Could not help humming "Dirty Water" while walking along the Charles, but it is anything but that these days! It is very busy with jiggers along the trails, kayakers and crew boats (especially during school seasons). You can meander across the river and back using several of the bridges. Beautiful picture taking from the bridges in the evening
