favorite thing to do with boston visitors- take them on a walk from Charles MGH station to Kendall. Such a pretty view, especially with the boats back out for summer.

Well, it's a big river! There are nice wooded paths and benches to sit on on the Boston (south) bank, with plenty of runners and cyclists on them. There are a couple of places to hire kayaks, and there's sailing. There are the odd cafe where you might get refreshments, but essentially this is a large waterway on the edge...

Stayed at the Hyatt overlooking the Charles. You could spend hours watching all the activity along the river and bikepath.

On Sundays, they close Memorial drive so pedestrians and bikers have it all to themselves. It is fun to watch the rowers and all the people. A nice escape from shopping and sightseeing.
