The minuteman trail is full of history for everyone. We - non Americans - loved the visitor centre and its 25 minute 3 dimensional film that explained very well what happened on April 19. The trail itself is beautiful.

This trail is one of the nicest amenities in Cambridge, Arlington and Lexington. As others have noted it runs 11 miles from the Alewife T stop in north Cambridge to the old Bedford depot in Bedford. The trail is level and flat throughout, although there can be hazards -- bumps on the asphalt due to roots, silty patches and downed... More

Had not heard of the Minuteman Trail until we were searching for somewhere to visit for an afternoon. Video at Visitor Centre was excellent. You could walk or bike as far as you wanted on the trail. Interesting information on the stopping points on the trail. Brought to life the American Revolution, well worth going to.

I love this trail, nicely shaded and wonderful spots to stop for ice cream or coffee. (Lexington is the best - Peet's coffee or starbucks) The trail is mostly flat. You do get walkers who allow pets on long leaches so be careful, or the occasional child running across the trail so skate and bike respectfully and able to slow... More

What an easily accessible resource. Get out there and use it. It's free and you can hop on and hop off. Create your own walk!

Nice bikeway, about 11 miles of nice path going through areas with nice trees, rivers, the path is used by bikers, walkers, strollers... Starting in Bedford, going through Lexington, Arlington and ending in Cambridge. You can rent bikes in Bedbord at The BikeWay Source (bikewaysource.com) or in Arlington at The bike Stop (abikestop.com). Do not forget the padlock if you... More

A nice quiet trail for a bike ride with friends and family. Safe , as no motor vehicles are allowed on the trail.

Here's the deal. If you are looking to get on your bike and crank, crank, crank this is definitely NOT the place for you. There are too many intersections, packs of walkers, bikers coming from the opposite direction that want to play chicken with you on your side of the path and groups of fools stopped on the path while... This is a great place to go for a walk rather than trying to bike. During peak hours, such as mid morning on a beautiful Saturday, there are lots of strollers, kids, dogs, elderly folks enjoying the day. So you really need to be careful riding your bike, especially if you enjoy riding fast! This is NOT the place to... More

The stretch from Davis Square to Alewife is hardly worth bothering with unless you live along there or commute to work in Boston or Cambridge. But once you get past Alewife, you start on a mostly straight, gently sloped rail trail to Bedford, except for the crossing in Arlington Center. There is a drinking fountain at Spy Pond, and a...
