Nice for sailing

Beautifully place for small sailing boats. Every day windy in the afternoon. A pity there are only few catamarans.

I love this lake for swimming, eating, relaxing. It has several managed sun-bathing areas where the attendants clean up and look after your stuff whilst you swim in the lake.... and it's only 25 miles from Rome.

Good stop for lunch on way up north/south from/to Rome. We stopped with the kids for a swim, the water was lovely and very beautiful scenery. Saw an otter!

Stunning lake, beautifully clear waters. Rented a sun lounger for €5/day and a pedalow €10/hr. Great day had. Very few tourists just locals.

We are staying at the Roma flash campsite on the west shore of the lake, within a ten minute drive of the town Bracciano. The town has a train station into Rome and good access to several small and large supermarkets. There is a huge lake with plenty of shore line for padding and swimming. There is a lack of... More

A beautiful lake with clear and clean water. At dusk, you can often see and hear the beavers which live in and around the lake. Lots of chips from old bowls and plates can be found at the bottom of the lake. These chips are all smoothened by the water, so you won't get hurt by stepping on them. The... More

On a cruise docking at Civitavecchia I did not wish to visit Rome or the Vatican City as I have been several times before and with temperatures approaching 40 degrees I was seeking a cooler alternative and accordingly chose a tour to Lake Bracciano. This proved to be a wise decision. The drive up into the hills was moderately interesting... More

We read lots of positive reviews about the lake but our personal experiences were far beyond expectations. We stayed in Bracciano so we visited the beaches there which were tiny, only max 30 umbrellas in 2-3 lines and mostly Italians are around, just a few tourists. The water is crystal clear, no motorboats and the view of Odescalchi Castle is... More

Bracciano is a charming little town with a castle overlooking the lake. The lake itself is beautiful from afar, and decent up close. Many birds in the lake make it not that appealing to swim in, however if you like still waters and semi-rocky sand, you'll find this place appealing. There are also many nice restaurants situated nearby and you... More

This lake is well worth a visit, but you need your own car. Good swimming, best from beaches at Trevignano and Bracciano lakefront. Plenty of good restaurants as well. The most picturesque town of the three lakeside villages and with a georgous promenade is Trevignano. Bracciano has the castle which is interesting enough although they only do guided tours and...
