Always a must on our visits to Springfield. I love to take a dinner picnic and listen to the summer evening carillon concert while my kids run around and explore.

We had a picnic lunch on the beautiful grounds, listened to the lovely Rees Memorial Carillon bells at noon. Carillon, with 67 bells weighing 82,753 pounds, is one of the world's largest and hosts an international week-long festival in June. Snack food is available, also restrooms. Spacious shady spots with benches. Gorgeous plantings on the grounds and Botanical Garden.

Just stumbled upon the park as we were looking at beautiful old houses. Wonderful garden you can walk through. Wish the Carillon would have been playing. Lots of people running and walking through the park.

Unless someone tells you about it, visitors to Springfield whose priority usually is to see the Abraham Lincoln historical sites probably aren't aware of Washington Park. Located at 1400 Williams Boulevard, the park features walking trails, a botanical garden, large duck pond, rose garden, carillon and carillon concerts. The major attraction is the Washington Park Botanical Garden, located at 2500... More

One of the most beautiful parks I've seen. Lovely flowers, tremendous variety of trees, and the landscaped walkways and paths are easy to walk. Plenty of benches and loads of shady spots throughout the park. We did not have time to go into the greenhouse. We happened to be there during their annual Carillon Festival and it was wonderful. Try... More

Grounds are lovely and one needs a car to explore the park which includes ponds. We walked the rose garden area , the pathways around the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon and the conservatory. I found the conservatory disappointing; lacking indentification of plants. A very small space. The 9,000 sq. ft. greenhouse was closed. June 3-7th finds The International Carillon Festival... More

We had no intentions of visiting a park on our visit to Springfield. We had little time and much to see, but once we seen this park we had to stop. This park is absolutely beautiful. I love that Springfield has a nice beautiful place for walkers to enjoy nature. There are driving paths as well as pedestrian lanes for... More

The park is very attractive. On a nice day, lots of olds are out walking, running, etc. The flowers are just coming in. This is a very nice oasis in the middle of town.

Great place for families, friends, or couples to walk and relax at. I was married at the gazebo in the park for only $60 & enjoy the park every time I go. I love the plants and flowers in the botanical house. Just wish the inside flowers area was a bit bigger. I come here every year.
