We stopped by the Henson Robinson Zoo looking for something to do on a Sunday in Springfield. The zoo is somewhat small but overall very fun. It was not crowded at all, so we were able to spend quite a bit of time watching the animal.

The zoo was really interesting to see with animals that has information about what their future holds.

We arrived at the Springfield zoo a little worried that it was going to be a bust. It was very small and it was raining. It turned out that both of these things worked in our favor for a great experience. The small zoo still had an array of animals. The zoo was set up in such a way that... More

Anytime I travel, I visit the local zoo and I really like this little zoo! For being so small they have an abundance of animals! They have a large variety of primates and you can get really up close to them! The layout of the zoo is really neat and very natural with some rolling hill areas which allow the... More

This used to be a great little zoo but that was years ago. The TA description says "300 animals" and maybe in someone's dreams is that true because there's certainly not 300 animals here. Many cages are bare and many enclosures inhabited by animals are unkempt. Many areas where there should be water are dry. Animals that were in view... More

We saw lots of animals. Wolves at play, peacocks showing their feathers, cougars, turtles eating, mocking monkeys, and a lot more. Gift shop is decent. Price is cheap. Well worth what there is to see. Lots of play ground equipment and picnic tables. We brought a cooler with water and sandwiches and had a picnic. Only 1 animal was MIA:... More

The zoo is small with a limited number of animals. My 5 year old enjoyed it while we were there. Don't expect to spend the whole afternoon there, maybe 45 minutes or so. The price was reasonable. We bought the family pass for $60 that is used for other zoos around the country. That was a great deal. They have... More

Definitely worth stopping if you're in the Springfield area. Smaller zoo (only took us about an hour to walk around), but they have some unique animals and you can tell they're taken care of well (always a fear of mine when you hear about the smaller places). There are some fun animal sculptures scattered throughout the zoo, you can get... More

We were excited to see the animals. Little did we know many of the animals were MIA!!! Bears-none; penguins- after looking through a very dirty glass window there was one hiding between barrels; tortoise---nada; spider monkey--Aldo missing. Perhaps the animals were still housed for winter. However, you would think there would be a sign stating such. We felt a little... More
