Wow, this is an impressive building. We love history and this one is near the top. This building's architecture is beautiful. It took 20 years to build this capitol! And is actually the tallest capitol building in the US - even taller than the US capitol! Wait until you see the dome on the inside. And the House of Representative... More

Great building with some very interesting portions. Good guide showed us around and explained everything about it. Well worth a visit.

Entrance to the State Capitol is free; expect to go through a metal detector. We were there when the House and Senate were not in session, so it was pretty quiet. Our guide was very informative, taking us from the 4th floor to the 1st floor on our tour. Neither of us had been inside since the renovation, and it... More

We visited three capitols in three days, and this was the most beautiful. Really spectacular in terms of artwork, marble, and style.

You could self tour or go with a guide. The kids were bored so we did a quick look and see. It's a beautiful building. From What I caught of the guides tour it sounded very interesting and educational for those who are in to that. You have to go through a medal detector. Also, the front entrance is closed.... More

We enjoyed our tour of the capitol. Our guide was very knowledgable and personable. Our only regret is we went on a weekend during the summer...it was deserted!

I have seen quite a few state capitals, and this is one of the most beautiful. It is patterned after our national capital, and is really beautiful.

This was my second visit to this Capitol. We ate breakfast in the cafeteria for a very reasonable price. I was the only person on the guided tour so I got the personal touch. The building has undergone extensive renovations since I last visited ten years ago. Parking was not bad since the Legislature was not in session. Definitely worth... More

Had no idea that the Capitol was so beautiful. The whole family enjoyed the tour and it was enhanced by there being a protest there.

I was surprised to see how lavish the inside of the State Capitol building was. It beat any cathedral or castle I've seen in Europe. There were lots of gold leaf painted ceilings, copper sculptures, marble floors and Austrian Crystal chandeliers. I thought it was ironic given how long the state must drag out their receivables to vendors and the... More
