Omaha's was the easternmost station on the transcontinental railway and is grand in scale and design. It's worth seeing just for the Art Deco ceiling and chandeliers. But, there's a lot more to see here, with the basement loaded with trains, history of the Native Americans and immigrants. Of special note are the lifelike bronze statues in the main terminal... more

Should be called "Omaha" Heritage Museum. Beautiful building and atractive display drew us in, but not very interactive. Lots of look but don't touch. We are a young couple who have been to other western heritage/history museums and found them much more enjoyable. This museum is mostly about Omaha. The museum is famous for their railroad history, but I really enjoyed learning more about the history of Omaha through the lives of different families. The museum has some great pieces and now is a partner with the Smithsonian so they are bring exhibits to Omaha frequently. Dont' forget to get a milkshake from their working soda fountain. more
