The “new” attraction at the Joslyn this year is a restored masterpiece by Rembrandt that had languished in obscurity for centuries. It now has a central place in the permanent collection surrounded by the work of Rembrandt’s Flemish peers, also restored to their best condition in living memory. This remarkable exhibit is joined by quality pieces by Titian and El... More

If you are an art fanatic or just like museums, this is the place to go! First stop on our vacation in Omaha and it was amazing! The front desk man was so helpful and mapped out the exact route we should take! The museum was very accessible and easy to find our way around. It was such a beautiful... More

This was a very nice museum and it's free, so even better. Very beautiful art inside. We didn't spend a ton of time inside....however, we loved the outside fountain that you could walk though.....lovely place.

For a free museum anywhere, I would be hard pressed to find it's equal among the smaller ones which charge admission. A Rembrandt, a Monet, and a Degas. A real jewel.

Tooke my girls there when they had the Egyptian exhibit, it was fascinating. At the time my girls were 14 and 10 and they enjoyed the museum more than I thought they would. Very educational. They cover many different eras in art history.

For the price of your zip code, you can explore every inch of the museum! We enjoyed the Asian art exhibit the most. There are some really interesting pieces from every era. We didn't take a guided tour, but there were some available. So glad it was open on a Sunday so I could see it with my husband, too.

We stopped on a rainy day. Free admission, beautiful building and grounds, and a collection just the right size for a couple of hours. The cafe is reasonable in price, healthy food, and tasty. Special exhibits vary and add interest.

We went here mostly for the Poseidon exhibit. My daughter loves Greek sculpture. We took the tour and the docent was very sharp and told us many things we wouldn't have learned just reading the plaques. The permanent installations were all well laid out and easy to walk through. Another plus, in my opinion was the gift shop. It featured... More

Joslyn is closed Mondays and holidays, otherwise open from 10 - 4 daily. The traveling exhibits usually require a fee, but the museum itself is free, thanks to Susie Buffett's Sherwood Foundation. Parking is also free. They have a nice cafe are that serves lunch 11 - 2, and snacks until 3. I love visiting in the summer, when the... More

We have many fond memories of Joslyn. The most outstanding was of our older daughter's wedding, which took place in the fountain court. This is a lovely space. But the art is the real star, and Joslyn has much to offer. There is a nice collection of traditional art, as well as modern art in the new wing, but the... More
