The Joslyn exceeded our expectations. The building itself is beautiful, including the center fountain court. The highlights were the two Dale Chihuly installations, Grant Wood's Stone City, two Monets and a Renior. It's amazing that admission is free, except for the special exhibits, which require a $10 ticket. I would allow at least 2.5 hours to see everything. Unfortunately, we... More

When I first looked at Joslyn Art Museum, a museum in Omaha of all places, I thought it would be a nice little museum with a few paintings here and there, but nothing really exceptional. Boy, was I mistaken. About one month ago, we were at the National Art Museum in Washington D.C., so I figured I had been ruined... More

The building itself is a work of art. Classic Art Deco so look for the symbolism honoring the working man and the philosophies. The galleries are in a logical order so you can walk from 1400s to today and really take in the changes in style as time goes by. We had a few hours which was enough to see... More

The Joslyn Art Museum is a lovely place to visit. It is not a large museum, but the collection is impressive. I especially enjoyed the architecture of the building and the modern art collection. It was an excellent place to spend a chilly morning.

We had a good time at the Joslyn Art Museum. Worth a visit just to see the huge and fabulous Chihuly, but they also have a nice selection of beautiful art, and an excellent little cafe.

Though my 6 and 7 year old both enjoy creating their own art, I wasn't sure how that would do at an actual Art Museum. As it turned out, they loved it! They even viewed the works in a way that showed me some new perspectives! The basement kids' art workshop is wonderful!

The Joslyn Art Museum is the perfect stop for any art lover. It was an absolute pleasure to see Grant Wood's "Stone City, Iowa".

This art museum has quality exhibits, a nice Children's art area and a sculpture garden with a pool to cool your heels. The building itself is a sight to behold, a must see if u visit downtown. I was amazed something of this quality was free.

If you are looking for a quiet intellectual afternoon without fighting large crowds or the elements, this is the place you need to visit. Many world renowned exhibitions, from time to time. Omaha takes great pride in the arts, theatre and culture. The East Coast medium meets the Midwest thoughtfulness in a smaller atmosphere and courtesy. Give it a try... More

We had the afternoon to wander around the Joslyn for the first time. The building and grounds are wonderful. The sculpture garden has many different elements--whimsical, grand, playful, inviting. On a beautiful day, the garden alone would be a nice stop. My husband and I made a cursory tour of the second level. We particularly enjoyed the chronological nature of... More
