This is an out-of-the-way theater that specializes in films that do not rate the more commercial theaters but which are excellent films in their own right. My wife and I have seen some outstanding films, some really "out there" and some truly magnificent but under-appreciated. This is always a great place to find wonder-filled film entertainment.

Love Film Streams for a different type of movie experience. They bring a new dimension to Omaha offering many films we would otherwise not have the chance to experience.

Film Streams is a beautiful theater that shows lesser known, more artsy fartsy movies. It's definitely an intimate theater and I love their non-mainstream movie selections. I've seen Nebraska and Anna Karenina there. It's a unique experience and definitely one you shouldn't pass up. It's always wonderful (for me at least) to support local business.

Film Stream shows a different style of film than the standard movie complexes. Generally it shows the smaller, less hyped movies, many of which are better than anything showing elsewhere. There are a lot of films on serious subjects, foreign films, and revivals of classic films. The selection is a welcome addition to the Omaha film scene. The theater is... More

We just like the fact that we have choices of movies that are outside the norm of Hollywood blockbusters - or Hollywood period, and this is where you come to view such films. The location is downtown so it is a bit of a jaunt if you live out west, but we feel it is well-worth the drive.

We were members here and attended shows regularly. Fantastic experience, inventive programming. Regular director/actor screenings, discussions, festivals like the Spanish films. The screening of Metropolis with the Boston ensemble playing the original score live was amazing!

I'm not going to review the theater based solely on the fact they show art/independent films - that's a lot like giving a grocery store a great review because they sell groceries. This is meant to be an art house theater. The aesthetics of the lobby are great - very cool entryway and a bit about the history of their... More

Film Stream is just about the only theater in Omaha you can see independent films. They sometimes make it to the bigger ones but honestly not very often. It is located in North Downtown aka NODO (North of the Old Market) and has a lot within walking distance including the TD Ameritrade Ballpark and Urban Outfitters, Pizza Places, concert venues... We go to Film Streams so often when in Omaha. They always have great movies that don't show in those other theaters catering to 3D, monster/fantasy, beat'em up etc (you have the idea). Was so excited to see the film Nebraska here - like the movie, this theatre is the epitome of this great state!
